Oneshot 11: Moonbli

Qibli's POV:

The house was a blur, with people rushing around, laughter, excited chatter and a very loud Kinkajou. 

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEE I'M SO EXCITED!!!" She squealed, walking outside and putting the weight on the balloon string to stop it from floating away, so she could clap and bounce excitedly.

Winter huffed and blocked his ears with an annoyed frown.

"Can you not go one freaking minute without saying that?" He grumbled, and Kinkajou's cheeks flushed a slight shade of pink with embarrassment.

"Oh c'mon Winter, let her be." Turtle laughed softly, ruffling Kinkajou's hair affectionately.

Kinkajou pouted and crossed her arms jokingly, before laughing along with him and swatting his hand away from her hair.

I laughed softly, and checked the time. "Uh, you guys know where Glory and Deathbringer are at?"

Kinkajou shrugged. "No idea."

Winter scoffed. "They're probably fashionably late again."

I whacked his shoulder with exasperation. "Let them be! Glory's exhausted, she almost couldnt make it today."

Turtle nodded. "She almost died the other day, don't blame her for being late."

Kinkajou sighed, her expression solemn, which was very uncharacteristic for someone like her. "She almost did... it was terrifying. I thought I lost her for a second there, especially when she passed out..."

My eyes widened slightly. "She what?!"

"She passed out the second Firefly was born, and Deathbringer was so stressed she didn't make it. He cried like hell, and it physically hurt to listen to." Turtle nodded in agreement.

Winter winced slightly. "Sheesh. Well, at least she's better now. My bad, didn't know." He said, raising his hands in a surrender.

I nodded, and jogged over to the bottom of the stairs. "Moon? Are you ready yet?"

She peeked out, her smooth, black hair was slightly damp, and I caught a glimpse of her pink dress. "I will be soon, who's here right now?" She asked softly.

I smiled at the sight of her. "Just the gang. Tsunami and Riptide are already here too, but Tsunami's putting Kai to sleep. Clay and Peril are on the way, Fatespeaker and Starflight are coming with them, and so are Sunny and Dune. Glory and Deathbringer are probably going to be late, since Glory's still recovering from the birth, but other than that, we should be good."

Moon nodded with a smile. "Okay! I'll be down in a bit, love you!" She said, before disappearing, and I heard her footsteps to our room.

"Love you too..." I murmured, not even caring that she probably didnt even hear me.

I walked back, checking myself in the hallway mirror. I wore a blue shirt with dark jeans, and my hair was slightly messy (thanks for that, Turtle...). I ran my fingers through it, smoothing it over, before starting to walk back to the others.

While I was walking, I heard the doorbell ring, followed by some faint rustles and soft chatter. I paused and looked back, wondering who it was. I made my way back, and opened it, revealing a happy (yet tired) looking Deathbringer, and a smiling (but even MORE tired) Glory, holding a small, baby girl in her arms.

"Hey! How are you guys?" I asked with a soft smile, opening the door wider and letting them in.

I hugged Deathbringer, and helped Glory in, giving her a one armed hug, careful not to startle the baby. Glory gave me a tired, but happy smile as she walked in, and Kinkajou walked over to her with an excited expression, but a hint of worry was in it. They sat down on the couch, chatting softly.
