I watch from behind a corner as both dojos fight for a spot in the Sekai Taika. One of the kids, Hawk, got hurt pretty bad. Silver must have taught the other kid his special move. I watch Tory's face as she watches what's going on, all the fear and regret. I had heard from Lawrence everything that had happened with Tory and the path she was going down for a while. Lawrence and I went back, I was the reason he got clean for a while before I was shipped away to yet another country for 'protection'. You could consider us friends, but he was more like a godfather to me. Not quite a father but also not quite a friend, a mix plus a little something else.

With what I had watched so far, none of it was striking me as clean. I felt eyes on me and I turned my head. Tory. I titled my head at her and stared for a second before walking out of the dojo. The stars shone bright over me, the moon guiding my path as I made my way back to where Tory lived.

"Vanya?" A familiar voice called out, heavy footsteps making their way to me. I smiled and turned around, opening my arms.

"Hi Doe." Her body hits mine hard and she hugs me tight. "I'm back for good this time."

"I missed you so much. I thought you wouldn't come back this time." I could hear the emotion in her voice and felt tears on my shoulder, causing me to tear up.

"I would never ever leave you. To the grave right?" I break the hug and hold out my pinky, which she hooks and smiles at me. I stare at her face and then bring my hands up to hold it. You got so big. What happened to my baby cousin?"

"She grew up during the four years you were gone." Her smile breaks a little.

I sigh, "It wasn't my choice. I couldn't put you, Brandon, or your mom in danger."

"What about you?"

"I don't care about my safety as long as you three are safe. You're the only people I have left to lose, and I'm not losing you. Besides, they moved my dad to a better prison in a different country, so I should be alright."

I bring her into another hug. "I'm never leaving you ever again Tory. I'm sorry I wasn't able to be there for you the last four years. I know how hard those must have been for you, especially with everything that went down."

"You heard about all that?" She pulls away, fear on her face. She looked scared. Scared that I wouldn't be disappointed or mad at her.

I nod, "But that's all in the past now, and right now, I'm proud of you."
