Autumn woke up entangled in Marjorie's arms. The way she had for the last four weeks.
Four weeks.
The miscarriage was four weeks ago. The kiss was four weeks ago. Winter walking out was four weeks ago. Four weeks with the sorrow. Four weeks of pain. Four weeks of this. Four weeks of bliss.
Four weeks with her.
She woke up entangled in her arms. Entangled in her legs.
"Autumn?" Pulled from her thoughts, she looked up at the brunette and smiled. "Good morning, sunshine." She ran her fingers through the brunette's hair and pulled her in for a kiss. "What do you want to do today, my love?"
Marjorie smiled down at her. "The last few weeks have been crazy. Are you alright if we just stay in? Maybe cuddle up on the sofa with Caddie and watch movies?" A smile spread across the brunette's face. "I would actually love that. These last four weeks have been rather crazy."
They both chuckled before falling into a passionate kiss. Autumn let her hands wander over Marjorie's body. She was always careful not to push too far or move too fast. She had promised the brunette that they would wait until she was ready. That didn't stop them from exploring the boundaries and each other.
Autumn was the one to stop them before they went too far. "Come on I'll make us breakfast. What do you want? Bacon? Eggs? Pancakes?" She knew that look in her eyes. She was up to something.
"Beautiful?" She didn't say more just yet. Once she had her attention, she would ask.
Autumn surprised her when she responded, "chocolate pancakes?" Marjorie playfully slapped her. "Yes please."
She wasn't sure if she was predictable or if Autumn had just unlocked the code, but either way she found it adorable when she just knew what she wanted or needed.
Autumn made quick work of it. She wasn't as proficient in the kitchen as Reece, but you could tell that they had cooked together for years. It was odd for Marjorie at first to watch her in the kitchen. Maybe even a little painful, but they ate in more than out and cooking for them herself wasn't an option. They took their plates and headed to the lounge.
Autumn curled into Marjorie and place her legs across her lap. Then Caddie curled up on Autumn's legs. They always watched horror and then Rom-Com to combat the brunette's nightmares, but she made sure to stay close for both. She wasn't a big fan of Rom-Com, but she often found herself watcher her girl more than the movie.
They spent the better part of the day curled up into each other on the sofa watching movie, reading and talking. They did lots of talking. They sprinkled all of that with mini make out sessions that never went too far.
As the day turned to night, they decided to move upstairs to the bedroom for their final movie. They walked up the stairs hand in hand, and something about the way Autumn was looking at her stilled her inside. She stopped her at the top of the stair and placed a tender kiss on her lips. She gazed into her brilliant green eyes. With a smile and a raised eyebrow, she said, "Autumn, I'm ready."
