Autumn's eyes fluttered open and she realised she was still in Marjorie's arms. She wasn't sure how they got here, but she wasn't unhappy about it either. She curled in a little tighter. They had known each other for years, but she had held Marjorie at arms length for so long she was convinced that was where she was meant to be. She hadn't realised that this woman's arms would ever be exactly what she needed. What she wanted.

She had lost herself in thought and didn't realise that Marjorie's breathing had changed. "Autumn?" She jumped a little; startled but Marjorie just held on pulling her in closer to comfort her. It was foreign to Autumn, but she felt calm and comfortable in this woman's arms. Autumn had always been the protector; the guard dog, but it wasn't lost on her that what Marjorie had just done made her feel protected. She looked up into her deep blue eyes. "Good morning. Do you want me to move or...?"

Marjorie didn't know where the bravery came from, but she pressed her finger to Autumn's lips to quiet her. "I don't want you to be anywhere but here. Unless you want to go?" She peered right into the brunette's dark green eyes. She saw no sign of her wanting to go or even to move from her position in her arms. The electricity between the was palpable. It scared Marjorie a little. Being with a woman scared her a little too, but somehow not enough to stop her. Moving her hand away she leaned down pressing her lips to Autumn's.

Marjorie's stomach growled and Autumn giggled into the kiss. "Are you hungry?" Marjorie thought about lying. She didn't want to go into the kitchen. Autumn caught on almost . "I will go whip us up something and be right back."

As Autumn stood, she looked down at herself. She was still wearing his jumper. Her eyes went a little dark. She had donned it yesterday to feel close to him. Now. She just wanted it off. She didn't even notice Marjorie moving through the room until her hands were on her hips. "Autumn, may I?" She nodded as Marjorie lifted the jumper over her head.

As much as she tried to stifle it, Marjorie gasped at the sight of her. "Hey lady, my eyes are up here." Marjorie bit her lip but shook her head as if to clear it. She pulled her own jumper over Autumn's head giving her a moment to compose herself. "Come on I will go with you. We will be brave together.

Marjorie hesitated at the kitchen door, but Autumn grabbed her hand reassuringly. "We'll make new memories." Marjorie smiled and leaned in, brushing her lips to the brunette's.

As Autumn cooked Marjorie sat playing with a bit of paper that had on the counter. "So where do we go from here?" Autumn remained silent as she tried to process. "I think we heal." She was thinking more of her baby than of Winter.

As the day drew on, she kept expecting Autumn to say she was going. She didn't get up the courage to ask until after dark. "Autumn, are you staying?" She winced waiting for the response. She didn't really want her to go. She just wanted to know the plan. "Do you want me to go?" The brunette shook her head. "No."

"Let's go up and watch a movie in your room. We can have a long weekend in. I think Charlotte and Winter will understand if we don't come in on Monday." Marjorie's eyes went wide. "Marjorie did you really think I didn't know? My brother heads off to Charlotte's house every Friday to pour his heart out to a woman that isn't his girlfriend. She adamantly said 'eww' every time someone even so much as insinuated she might fancy him. The lady doth protest. Mia spending more time away. I knew."

Marjorie let it all sink in. "Why didn't you say?" Autumn hesitated. "I couldn't hurt you, Marjorie. I loved Winter. I probably would have stayed with him for the rest of my life. But, when you started with Reece, I realized that I loved you too. I just didn't have any right to ask that of you."

Marjorie's head snapped to look at her. "Wait! You what? Autumn, what do you mean you loved me?" Her mind couldn't comprehend what Autumn was saying. What she was hearing. "You mean to tell me you loved me all this time?"

"I love you, Marjorie. I do."

"But you also loved Winter?"

"You never loved more than one person?"

Marjorie knew she had. Autumn reached for her hand, and she let her take it. She led her upstairs and turned the movie on. This time as they climbed into the bed, she pulled Marjorie in. Marjorie entangled herself into her. As their eyes met, Autumn knew she was in the right place with the right person.

The next morning, she found Marjorie listening to music while she cleaned. As she watched the brunette dance around the lounge, she realised that although she had made her intentions clear the night before Marjorie had not. She had left herself vulnerable. It wasn't a feeling she was used to, and she wasn't at all comfortable. She slipped her arms around the brunette's waist from behind and pulled her in. "Come sit with me." They went to the sofa neither allowing their bodies to lose contact. Once they sat, Autumn looked down. She needed to know, but sure she could bear to ask. "Marjorie, you haven't said what you wanted. I want you, but what do you want?"

Marjorie cupped her face in her hand. "Autumn, I was going home to leave Reece whether you wanted me or not. I am falling for you and that was enough for me to want to end it with him. After that first night holding you, I was emboldened and felt brave. I have never had that. I don't know what all of this means but, I know I gotta have you... I want you."

As Marjorie said the words, they were echoed by the song playing. Autumn listened for a minute. She listened mostly to the old R&B, but she liked the rhythm. She stared into Marjorie's blue eyes and the pulled her into a passionate kiss. "I want you too, Sunshine."
