Survivors' Circle

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2043.

The next day arrived as Rocky joined Boone, Tony and Luca at the dining hall table that was set up near the front entrance. "Alright, you guys ready for this?".

Boone squeezed Tony's hand and nodded. "Can I go first?".

"Sure, where do you want to start?". Rocky asked.

Boone thought this over for a moment before answering. "The day I took off on Miguel and got bit".

"How did it all go down?". Rocky asked gently.

"We were at a CVS looking for medical supplies, everything went fine for about ten minutes until we were walking out and a Walker grabbed Miguel's ankle". Boone started to explain.

"That's when he got bit". Rocky chimed in softly.

Boone nodded and continued speaking. "He yelled for me to help him but I got scared and ran out of the building".

"Why'd you run?". Rocky asked.

"I don't know". Boone replied with a sniff. "I've been trying to figure that out for the last twenty eight years and still can't think of an excuse or reason".

"Where'd you go after you walked out of the CVS?". Rocky asked.

"I ducked into the woods and walked for about half an hour before sitting against a tree to take a break". Boone continued. "I must have been sitting there for less than five minutes before I was bit".

"What'd you do when you realized you got bit?". Rocky questioned.

"I was going to patch it up but I realized I had left all the medical supplies in Miguel's bag, so I just sat against the tree and waited for the inevitable to happen". Boone replied quietly.

"So you were just waiting to turn?'. Rocky asked carefully.

"I felt so guilty about abandoning Miguel that I just stopped caring about what would happen to me, I'd already been dealing with suicidal thoughts before the virus took over and getting bitten just exacerbated things". Boone tearfully explained.

Rocky nodded sympathetically. "When did you meet Alden?".

"After I was bitten I dozed for about four hours, I woke up when I heard a twig snap and saw one of Alden's lackey's, who was named Jake, pointing his gun at me". Boone went on.

"What did he do?". Rocky asked.

"He asked if I was armed so I gave him the knife I had, then he noticed my bite mark". Boone replied. "I told him I was immune and he led me to Alden's bunker".

"What did Alden do when he saw you?". Rocky questioned.

"He questioned me about my bite mark and had Jake lock me up in one of the underground rooms for two days. I met Tony on that first night when gave me something to eat".

"Did you do anything after?". Rocky asked, turning his attention to Tony.

"When I gave Boone the food he saw that I was sitting pretty close to him and he asked me why I wasn't afraid of him considering that he was infected". Tony recalled.

"What did you say?". Rocky asked.

"I said that there wasn't much to be afraid of considering he was underfed and weaponless". Tony replied. "Then I introduced myself properly".

"Did you say anything else to him?". Rocky inquired.

"I told him to do whatever Alden asked him to do so that he and his brother wouldn't get hurt". Tony recalled with a shiver.
