"Your one of those cannibalistic freaks that tried to rape her aren't you?". Tommy asked James, pure hate in his eyes as he spoke.

"I won't deny the cannibal part but I never tried to rape her! I don't do shit like that". James replied defensively.

"Oh right, that was your little friend David". Ellie taunted dryly. "How the hell are you even alive anyways? I severed your neck with a cleaver!".

"You obviously didn't hit anything important". James replied as he turned and showed off the scar on the left side of his neck.

"So what, you played dead or something?". Ellie asked as she, Tommy and Cedar escorted James back to Jackson.

"Pretty much". James replied. "After David went after you I left through the side door and didn't look back".

"Leaving a fourteen year old girl to get beaten and almost sexually assaulted". Tommy grumbled as he led the group into the dining area.

"Who's that?". Joel asked curiously, pointing at James when he saw him.

"James Winslow, I was uh, part of that group that went after you in Colorado". James introduced himself carefully.

"You seriously brought this guy here?". Joel asked harshly, glaring at his little brother.

"I'm not armed or anything, please, can you just hear me out?". James pleaded.

Joel narrowed his eyes but ultimately nodded and gestured towards an empty chair at the table. "Alright, start talking".

James nodded and looked over at Ellie. "What happened to David? I went back to that restaurant a couple days later and half of the place was burnt down".

"After I thought I killed you, I tried throwing a piece of burning wood at him but he ducked and it hit the curtain. When he was trying to rape me I grabbed that cleaver and hacked him to death". Ellie recalled.

"Thought that pervy piece of shit would never die". James replied with a satisfied look.

"You were one of his main followers, how are you so happy that he died?". Ellie asked suspiciously.

"I'm not sure what David told you when he was talking to you, but I'm assuming most of it was a load of shit". James replied with a sigh.

"He told me about the QZ in Pittsburgh getting overrun". Ellie explained. "And how his little cult got started".

"Yeah, that Pittsburgh QZ? I actually ran that place". James revealed. "Until David showed up and took it over himself".

"I thought FEDRA ran that area?". Joel cut in.

"How do you think David managed to take it down so quickly?". James replied bitterly.

"So, you just let him do it?". Ellie asked skeptically.

"It's not like I could just take on FEDRA by myself, plus, we both know how brutal David was". James replied with a look over at Ellie. "And I still had my friends to look after".

"Your friends?". Tommy asked.

"My friend Alec and his wife Joyce, their little daughter Hannah was born in 2021". James replied with a frown.

"Why wouldn't you guy's try to leave?". Miguel asked.

"It would have been too risky, David's group was monitoring us day and night to make sure we didn't try anything". James explained.

"Who was part of David's group at that point?". Cedar asked curiously.

"Marco, Josiah and Timothy, they were the ones that went after you". James replied with a look over at Joel.
