I knock on the door of Danielle's penthouse, and her mother opens the door. Her mother has tan skin and downturned eyes, and she's wearing a big diamond necklace and a long dark green dress.

She's kind of intimidating.

"Hello, you must be Mrs. Woods, " I say. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too. Please come in."

I walk into the penthouse, and it's very modern. There are big windows and fancy furniture.

I walk over to Danielle's Dad. He's sitting down at the table already.

"Hello, it's nice to meet you," I say.

"Danielle hasn't told us much about you." He says. "Are you her boyfriend?"

I take a deep breath, we've been on a date, but we haven't made anything official.

"No, we're just friends."

"Good." He says.

That was awkward.

After a few more minutes, Danielle comes into the dining room. I get up and hug her. She's wearing a dark purple knee-length dress.

"You look beautiful," I say.

"Thank you." She says. "You look good as well." She smiles before she sits down at the table.

"Allison said she'll be here in a few minutes," Danielle says.

"We're excited to meet her." Mrs. Woods says.

"Yeah, we're excited to see the one person who's believing in your dreams to be an actress, even though we told you many times that it's a risky career, but you still just had to go and do it." Mr. Woods says.

"Dad, can we not do this right now? We have guests." Danielle says quietly.

"I didn't say anything wrong. I was just stating my opinion." Mr. Woods says. "It's not like you'll listen to us anyway."

"Honey now is not the time."Mrs. Woods says, "We're excited to meet your director and your friends."

"Oh, Noah is the only friend I've met on set."

"Great, so we had such an extravagant dinner made for two people." Mr. Woods rolls his eyes before taking a sip of his wine.

"Richard now is not the time!" Mrs. Woods snaps.

"Dad, we're trying to have a fun dinner tonight."

"Can you please cut it out for now?" Mrs. Woods says.

"Cut out what? My opinions. I have told you multiple times that acting is a risky career, and yet you defy me" He takes a deep breath. "You defy me about every single thing. every single thing, over and over and over again, and I'm sick of it."

Just then, we hear a knock on the door.

"Great, Allison must be here," Danielle says and stands up.

"Yes, how great the person who is encouraging you to fail horribly in life."

"We can't wait to meet her." Mrs. Woods says. "Richard cut it out right now."

Danielle opens the door and hugs Allison. "So glad you were able to make it."

"I wouldn't miss it for the world," Allison replies.
