Allison called me to go into her office, saying she had something to discuss with me.
As soon as I walk into the room, she blurts it out before I even have a chance to sit down.
"You're going to date Aniyah Collins."
What did she just say? No, I don't like Aniyah.
"No, I'm not."
"Noah, this would be great publicity for the movie." She says quickly.
"Allison, I don't want to do this."
"This would make the movie bigger than it already is. Everybody loves her, and this would be great for all of us!"
"What does she think of it?"
"She said she wouldn't mind, but it's up to you. Just let me know by the end of the day."
"Don't you think it's wrong to use somebody for publicity?"
"Noah, I know you're new to the industry, but you have to know that a lot of relationships between actors are publicity stunts."
I mean, I knew that some of them were, but still, it felt wrong to me.

The next scene is with Danielle. We have our first "date" It's more of a hangout, but for some reason, it's classified as a date in Clyde's mind.
"You look good today," I say with a smile.
"Uhm, thanks... I guess," Iris replies, disgust on her face.
"How have you been?"
"Not great" she rolls her eyes.
"Well, do you want to talk about it?"
"Not really, if you can't tell, I don't want to be here. It's been a bad month, yet you wouldn't stop asking to hang out every time we've seen each other at stores" Her face is a mix of disgust and anger.
"Oh, you don't like making new friends?"
"I do, but I like friends that don't try so hard."
My face twists into something between sadness and embarrassment.
"Well, if you don't want to be here, we can leave already. If you want to"
"No, if this gets you to stop asking me to hang out, then I'll just be tortured for an hour." She looks at her phone and types a message.
"Well, dang, you're outraged right now."
"Was I not obvious before?" She scoffs
"I'll go order us some coffee," I say, my tone soft.
"No, I like to order for myself." She scoffs and kicks my backpack as she walks by.
She gets up and walks to the counter. I stay there, in shock.
"CUT!' Allison shouts.
Danielle walks back over and sits down.
"I hate being mean, especially to you," She says.
"At least you're not mean for the last twenty-five percent of the book."
"Why did the author make her so hateful? I relate to her insecurities and problems, but I do not relate to this whole mean persona."
