I shower, brush my teeth, and then quickly do my hair. I am out the door by four-twenty-four am.
I get onto the road, and it's empty, nobody in sight. To me, that's a great thing because I'm usually nervous when I drive.
We're filming in chronological order, so that means today we're going to be on set for the "houses," and then we're going to Brackenridge Park because that is where Clyde and Iris meet.
I arrive on set and quickly try to find my trailer to put my stuff away, and then I have to be at another trailer to get my outfit.
Once I finally find my trailer, I quickly put my backpack and phone away and then find the Wardrobe trailer.
I finally find the wardrobe trailer and step inside.
"Good morning, I'm Mary. I am your stylist, and I have your outfit ready to go. Just grab it and change in your trailer."
"Nice to meet you," I say, then grab my outfit and quickly go back to my trailer.
I change into my outfit, which is a white T-shirt and jeans. It's a simple outfit, but it's not much different from my regular everyday clothes. I at least add some color. This is so bland.
Once I arrive at the first studio building, I see Danielle talking to Allison.
"What are you doing here? I don't think we film together until later."
"Wishing you luck, I'm about to film my small scenes in the next studio. It's just some short clips that are going to be compiled for a Getting Ready montage."
"This is so exciting! I guess I'll see you again at Brackenridge Park later."
"Well, good luck! See you later."
I make my way over to Allison. She's talking to Emily.
Emily plays Clyde's mom.
"Hey," I say, "Good morning! I am tired but ready to film."
"Good morning! It took me years to get used to the filming hours, but it does happen at some point," She explains. "Anyway, you're about to start your day and have breakfast which is gonna be about two hours of filming, but that's only if we're lucky because filming takes a lot of work."
"Okay, got it."
I sit down at my desk and hold the pen in my hand, waiting for Allison to say action.
"ACTION!" Allison yells
I start writing down how Clyde's week went. Clyde is a big journaling person. It's weird to have a camera slowly get closer and closer to you.
The camera turns to record the journal, and what I'm writing, then it slowly starts zooming back out.
"Clyde, breakfast is ready!" Emily yells from the kitchen set.
"Be there in a minute!" I yell back, close my journal, and put it back into my drawer.
I look at Allison while I walk to the kitchen set, and she smiles and gives me a thumbs up. I feel relief as soon as I see that.
Once I'm in the kitchen, I sit down at the table.
This is the scene I am most afraid of because I have to chew the food and then spit it out. They do this to ensure that the actor doesn't get sick because most scenes are filmed multiple times.
