Anirudha pov ~

The phone rang, and I answered it immediately. It was Aditya, his voice tense but determined.

"Sir, we've got the location of the mobile. It's near the river, by the Shiv Mandir. She was there just a little while ago," he said.

My heart skipped a beat. Finally, a lead. But fear surged through me was she okay? Without wasting a second, I pushed the accelerator to the floor. The car roared to life, speeding through the darkened roads.

My mind was a storm of emotions. Relief battled with dread, hope tangled with fear. All I could think was, "She has to be safe, she just has to." My grip on the steering wheel tightened as the tension inside me grew.

"Please… just let her be okay."

As I reach the Shiv Mandir, I quickly step out of my car, urgency coursing through me. Without wasting a moment, I dash toward the temple and start calling out her name. "Moon... Where are you, Moon?" My voice echoes through the stillness of the sacred space as my eyes scan every corner of the temple. But she's nowhere to be seen.

Frustration and worry churn in my chest as I step back outside, my feet instinctively leading me toward the riverbank. Then, suddenly, my gaze lands on her.

She's sitting on a large stone near the river's edge, Her eyes, red and swollen, suggest a storm of emotions, lost in a world of her own thoughts. For a moment, relief washes over me, but it is quickly replaced by concern. My heart is aching. I stride toward her and grab her wrist, pulling her toward me with a force that brings her crashing into my chest.

The sudden closeness jolts her from her trance. Her hand rests against my chest as she regains her senses, and she immediately tries to pull away, her eyes darting nervously. But I don't let her go. My voice, heavy with anger and fear, spills out.

"How could you just leave like that without telling anyone?" I demand, my tone sharp and pained. "Do you have any idea how scared I was?
As she struggles to free her hand, I hold on firmly, my frustration mirroring hers. Her fiery eyes meet mine, challenging me. "Aapko kya fark padta hai, main kahin bhi jaun?" she snaps, her voice sharp and laced with defiance.
("Why do you care where I go?")

Her words sting, but I respond just as sharply, "Tum meri employee ho, isliye."
("Because you're my employee, that's why.")

She lets out a bitter chuckle, shaking her head. "Oh, is that it? Fine, then I quit. Happy now?"

Her words cut deeper than I expect. I release her wrist, confusion and concern battling within me. "But why?" I ask, trying to understand.

She folds her arms, her voice colder now. "Kyun? Kya main apni beizzati karwa ke kahin kaam karun? Mujhe apni self-respect pyaari hai."

("Why? Should I keep working while being humiliated? I care about my self-respect.")

I feel the weight of her words but still can't piece it all together.  I ask, my confusionly
"What do you mean?"

Her eyes flash with anger, and she snaps back. "Wah, as if you don't know. When Radhika ma’am said all those things to me, you fired her. I thought you did it to protect my dignity. But I was wrong. Back then, your name was also tied to mine, and being associated with a middle-class girl would've hurt your reputation more. That’s why you did it."

"I don't understand why you’re saying all this."

She glares at me, her voice rising. "Oh really? You don't understand? When Radhika ma'am said all that to me, and I didn't take stand for myself , you called me weak saying I don't know how to take stand for myself."
