Author note ~
(Necessary)

I am planning to release a new book on New Year's Day. Please make sure to read it; I know you will love it too. I will also create a weekly schedule for updates soon, so don't forget to follow along and read it!

Now enjoy reading and ignore the grammatical and spelling mistakes......

Anirudha pov~

It had been three days since I last talked to Isha. I hadn't gotten a moment to speak with her, let alone properly rest at a hotel. I was so swamped with work that I had been getting ready in my cabin's attached bedroom and washroom. Finally, though, the work was done. I was heading back to the hotel to freshen up before catching a flight back to India. It had been far too long since I had seen the moon, my Moon.

It was 9 a.m. Indian time, and I had been trying to call her since morning, but she wasn't answering. I didn't know why, but something didn't feel right. This sinking feeling in my chest wouldn't go away. It felt like something bad was about to happen. "God, please keep the Moon and my family safe," I muttered to myself. No, I told myself, I shouldn't overthink. Maybe it's just exhaustion-I haven't slept properly in three days.

I was lost in these thoughts when my car came to a halt. I arrived at the hotel. As soon as I stepped out, I saw Arnav walking toward me.

But wait... Arnav? Here? How? He was supposed to be in India! His face looked tense, as if something was terribly wrong. Before I could say a word, he spoke.

"Anir, tumhe abhi ke abhi India wapas chalna hoga, warna bahut der ho jayegi!"
("Anir, you need to return to India immediately, or it'll be too late!")

"Der ho jayegi?" I asked, confused.
("Too late?")

"Isha ki shaadi ho rahi hai, aur aaj uski engagement hai."
("Isha's getting married, and her engagement is today.")

Hearing those words, it felt like the ground beneath my feet had disappeared. How was this possible?

"Achaanak se... kya? Moon ki?" I asked in disbelief.
("Suddenly... what? Moon's?")

"Hamaare paas jyada time nahi hai. Sab ready hai. Hame abhi ke abhi nikalna hoga, warna bahut der ho jayegi," Arnav said urgently.
("We don't have much time. Everything's ready. We need to leave immediately, or it'll be too late.")

"Thik hai," I said, snapping out of my shock.

("Alright.")

We got into the car and started heading to the airport. My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts.

How could this happen so suddenly? Why was she doing this? Maybe Her parents force her but they wouldn't do that to her. I needed to get there as soon as possible. There had to be a reason. Something wasn't right.

Isha pov~

Today is my engagement with Samarth. Everyone around me seems so happy, but deep down, I feel an unshakable unease. Will this marriage truly bring me the happiness I desire? I doubt it. But my family is overjoyed, and for their sake, I've convinced myself to be happy too. This time, I've decided to prioritize their happiness above mine. My family is all that matters now.

Just as I was lost in my thoughts, my mother entered the room in a hurry. "Beta, it's already evening! Get ready quickly! You know the auspicious time is only between 8 and 10 p.m.," she said with urgency.

Feigning a smile, I replied, "Yes, Mumma, I'm getting ready."

"Good. Make sure you're dressed perfectly," she instructed the makeup artists before leaving. "And you," she turned to them, "make sure my daughter looks stunning tonight." The artists nodded, and she left.
