"so, he's been missing for how long?" i start shaking my leg rapidly as amy explains her story to me "3 weeks, according to robotnik. him and the master emerald are gone." amy starts biting her nails, visibly nervous "and how do we know eggman isn't lying? i mean he's manipulated him before, what if it's a set up?" "he wouldn't do that, not again. he's our friend sonic. plus! robotnik knows not to mess with him, especially when shadow is so overprotective of him." "right..." i agree with her and start thinking "wait so, eggman said angel island was doused in blood?" she looks up at me as if i said something stupid "do i need to repeat everything? yes! he sent me an image as well." she pulls out her rosy pink, glittery phone with strawberry charms attached to the case. she unlocks it and goes to her gallery "this is what he sent, it's low quality because of some importing crap but it's a full image of angel island... it's completely red! surrounded with red mist as well. even the water below it has blood in it..." i grab her phone and start looking closer, she was right. there was blood and red mist, so much blood, it even looked like there was chunks of flesh... giant chunks. "and he's not there... damn it. if shadow finds out he's gonna lose his mind." "well good thing i told rouge, she's keeping him far away from the city until we actually find him." i scoot over to her and pat her shoulder "it's alright, ames. we will find him, he's probably sleeping with the master emerald in a cave or something!" i say, trying to cheer her up but failing. i look into her eyes and see them start to get glassy "he's my big brother... if anything happened to him i wouldn't... i..." she covers her face and starts silently crying. i hug her side and place my cheek against her short, messy, pink quills "it's going to be okay... he's okay!" shadow and rouge bust in through the front door of amy's small mushroom cabin "SONIC." i gasp and look up as i see shadow running towards me "where the HELL is he." "w-who!?" amy looks up at rouge "sorry rose... he forced it outa me." rouge walks up to amy's smaller couch, on the other side of the living room and sits on it, crossing her legs "don't play stupid, faker. rouge told me everything! where is HE." i sigh and sit back against the cushions "we haven't found him yet, eggman's on it now. but i don't really trust him..." i say the last part under my breath "so you guys leave him alone for hours on end on that FUCKING island, constantly ignoring him and tossing him aside like trash, but the moment he's gone with the emerald; that's when you guys start paying attention to him?! some friends you guys are." i stare at him confused and amy pushes shadow "fuck off shadow! we miss him as much as you do but you can't just insult us! he prefers to be alone!" shadow stares at amy's tearful eyes and scoffs "he never meant anything to you guys did he.. pathetic assholes." he starts heading for the door and amy grabs his arm "that's not.. fair." "what?" rouge sits up and we exchange worried glances. amy has always been strong, she's the second strongest in our group. under knuckles. she's also always had a temper... same with shadow, he got angry easily and liked to pick fights with anyone he thinks is out of line. me and rouge start scrambling towards them trying to avoid a fight "that's not fair! he's our friend! he's like my brother! you can't just say those things when you know NOTHING!" amy pushes shadow to the ground and starts crying again "okay, hey. stop it you two." rouge goes up to shadow and lifts him up, i grab amy's arm and pull her towards me "i know nothing? i knew more than all of you combined! none of you were ever there for him. you guys left him alone and never spoke to him unless y'all needed something!" shadow starts walking up to amy and me, towering over us "you say he's your brother, so treat him like one. you guys didn't even notice he was gone for 3 weeks until ROBOTNIK of all people went to check up on him. you guys didn't even know his island was drenched in blood and guts!" "fuck you shadow!" amy goes to push him away again but shadow grabs her arm and squeezes it "do not touch me." she pulls her arm back and they stare at each other "you don't deserve him." amy scoffs and turns away, all of the sudden we hear a high pitched, raspy voice "who's he?" it was tails. he heard everything, i had completely forgot he was sleeping upstairs. he was still in his light blue, cotton pajamas, holding his yellow blanket "hey buddy.. what are you doing here?" i start walking up to him "who's missing?" he steps back as i try to grab his hand "tell me what's going on!" i couldn't. we couldn't. but... rouge spoke "darling... knuckles has bee-" "knuckles is missing?!" he cuts her off and had a face of horror plastered on. tails and knuckles were always close, closer than amy and knux. possibly closer than shadow and knux, they've been together since tails was around 2, and knuckles was 10. they were best friends. i could never compete with knuckles when it came to a 'knuckles or sonic' battle with tails, i was like a brother to tails but knuckles WAS his brother. they bonded over their weird features, tails had two tails and could fly while knuckles was taller and slimmer than every other echidna, he also has super strength. he's the strongest mobian ever. but despite these flaws, they became friends, they bonded, they were friends. they were brothers. they WERE brothers.
