❝Had a few niggas, ride or die for me. Tell me baby, will you slide for me?❞ Ciyana lip-synced along to Summer Walker's Potential that was playing from her Alexa while she watched her reflection in the bathroom mirror.
Her nap yesterday—which was only supposed to last a few hours—had accidentally stretched past her bedtime. To her surprise, when she woke up this morning thinking it was still the same day, it was actually 9 a.m. the next day.
She had a meeting via zoom with the team scheduled for 10:15 so now she was slightly rushing so she could look at least a little presentable even though it was only virtual.
She had just finished slicking her hair back into a sleek ponytail and was now swooping her edges to achieve the soft, messy look she often went for with her baby hairs.
Since her hair was cooperating today, she'd only been at it for about 10 minutes.
Once she got the look she wanted, she pulled out two small strands from the side, dampened them with water, and twirled them around her finger to create small defined curls.
Deciding to keep it simple and somewhat professional, for clothes she wore a Cotton Jersey T-shirt from Skims in the color soot and the matching leggings. Not that the bottoms mattered since no one would really be seeing them.
She loved her a two piece set. They always got the job done.
As she added the final touches to her hair, she checked herself out in the mirror, striking a few poses and doing a little dance to make sure she felt cute and was satisfied with the finished product.
She got a bit carried away, passionately singing along to her favorite part of the song playing, "Give you the Glock .40, holdin' it down for me. I know you good in the hood, bust a couple juugs—"
"You have two new messages from Maybe: Makai, black heart emoji.Would you like me to read it?" Alexa's voice, artificial yet warm and friendly, spoke over the music.
Which reminded her—she had only meant to ignore him for a few hours. She fully intended to get back to him yesterday. But now it was an entirely new day, and he was probably pissed. She wasn't too much worried about that though.
But she couldn't deny that the fact he was still hitting her up gave her ego a little boost.
She was a hard one to get—not intentionally, but this was just how she was when it came to men pursuing her. Which, honestly, was why she didn't many real or meaningful relationships under her belt in the first place.
He didn't seem to mind the pursuit though.
"Yes," She simply replied, her voice one of slight intrigue.
