❝Get the fuck off me gang.Yo' ass too clingy,❞ Kairo muttered as he pushed Ciyana off she lay there half-sleep with her legs on top of him. They were in their childhood room of their parents house since they were both had come over for different reasons yesterday.
Ciyana had come to help her mom take down all the Halloween decorations, while Kairo-her fraternal brother, the third of their trio-was there for reasons she still wasn't sure of.
What she did know was that after she finished, she found him playing video games on their old, dusty PlayStation 4, which they used to share. Before long, they were locked in a game of NBA 2K, just like old times. What felt like only an hour or two had stretched all the way to five in the morning.
Nothing unusual for the siblings. So, instead of going home, they'd both decided to stay and leave the next day.
They had initially fallen asleep on opposite sides of the room but somehow always woke up together. It was a habit they'd formed as babies, surprising their parents when it carried over into adulthood.
Even though they'd spent years living apart, the bond they shared had never wavered.
And though Kairo was the one complaining now, Ciyana could think of countless times when she'd been on the other end of his teasing. The bond they shared, like that of all twins and triplets, was unexplainable—and that was perfectly fine.
"Oh, bye, hoe. You just as fucking clingy." She waved him off before curling up on the edge of the small bed.
There was some resentment she still carried toward her siblings, unresolved issues that had little to do with them but everything to do with her past. It wasn't their fault, not technically, but it was something she had to work through alone.
It was a part of her she kept hidden, even from herself. It was why she could be distant and why she felt an overwhelming need for independence.
Still, she loved them more than anything, and being in that room brought a rush of nostalgia she couldn't shake. She couldn't help but be brought back to many memories of her early years just from the nostalgia caused by this room.
The only thing missing was Aiayna–but she was all the way back in California to pursue her dreams as an influencer. They all gained traction on social media back in the day–around 2014-2015–just for being triplets. Which is why Ciyana had a decent amount of followers on Instagram.
But she had other dreams and passions, and Kairo was on a different path in life. Aiyana was the only one who actually made a career out of the social media thing.
