"So, what are we going to do about Ingram?" Christian twirled a piece of her hair around his finger. They had eventually made it to his bed and Devin rested against his chest, perfectly satiated and happy.

"Do we have to think about that at this exact moment?" She mumbled with her eyes closed.

"Sorry, I know not the time or place. It just really bothers me. What if he's telling the truth?"

"You think Christine lied?" Devin had considered that explanation and the more she thought about it, the more it made sense.

"I think that he doesn't know everything. When I talked to him he seemed genuinely surprised about the money."

"Before you punched him?"

"Yes Devin, before I punched him." A chuckle escaped from Devin's mouth. She didn't love the idea of Christian punching anyone but the imagery of him and Mr. Ingram having it out made her laugh. Neither was particularly gifted in the art of the fight. She imagined it to be clunky at best.

"Well, I don't think you're wrong. It seems like Christine has had control of the purse strings for a while. I also think it's weird that I ended up working for him. That can't be a coincidence right? Do you think she knew I knew you?" Christian shifted underneath her and they turned to face one another.

"If she did, that would be insane. But then again, this entire thing feels mildly bonkers so hey, I wouldn't put it past her." Devin tried to wrap her head around the concept that Christine Ingram could be a mastermind screwing over everyone in her life.

"But hey, we can unravel this mystery in a bit. I am absolutely starving. Want me to make us grilled cheeses?"

"God yes please. That sounds amazing." He pressed a kiss into her lips.

"One grilled cheese coming right up." He rolled away from her and pulled a shirt and shorts out of his dresser.

"I like you better when you're naked." She said cheekily, her face pressed into a pillow.

"I like you always." He shot back and Devin felt her heart soar. She was happy. Even if Christine Ingram ended up being a monster, she was happy that this entire situation had brought her to Christian.

"I think you should just confront her." Devin was on the phone with Rosie who was egging her on.

"I don't think I'm in any position to confront her considering it really has nothing to do with me." Devin was holding up dresses in the mirror. She was headed to the theater. Mr. Ingram had given her (and Christian) last minute tickets to one of his shows. Devin hadn't worked on it but she was excited nonetheless. It would technically be her and Christian's first real date.

"If you see her there tonight, walk right up to her and say "you ruined my man's life" and storm away. Or you could always throw a drink in her face."

"You've been watching too much Housewives recently and it shows." Devin deadpanned causing Rosie to laugh.

"Perhaps. But this is too good of an opportunity to pass up. What are you going to wear?" Devin looked at her reflection in the mirror. She was completely undecided.

"I'm between my navy dress with the v neck or the burgundy velvet mini."

"Oh definitely the burgundy mini. Your legs look incredible in it. Christian won't be able to keep his hands off of you. And make sure he wears a burgundy tie so you guys look good in the pictures."

"What pictures?" Devin hadn't considered that there would be pictures taken at all.

"Jesus Devin. Sometimes I wonder where you heard is at. You and Christian are going to an event where there will be photographers considering it's an opening and on top of that, you're a couple now. Couple's take pictures. Just put your girlfriend hat on." Rosie had a point. She was technically someone's girlfriend now.
