Part 2

Juliet's sweet 16

Today is my 16th birthday. But it's not how I imagined it would be. When I was imagining this day at 12 years old, I imagined going to the amusement park with Paige and my family and eating at the cheese cake factory at the end of the day.

But instead today I'm in a tight fitted sparkly dress. In my parent's penthouse in New York City. That's decked out in birthday decorations and filled with way too many people who probably don't even know my name. Even the important ones are not Paige. For all I know she's back in Minnesota with all her other friends.

So when I hear people begin to sing and see a giant cake being wheeled my way I feel sad all of the sudden. I listen to all the people around me sing loudly and blow out the candles once the songs done. As my eyes are closed and I'm making my wish I feel someone come up behind me.

Wrapping their arms around my waist. "Happy birthday JJ." She whispered in my ear. I turned around and saw her face. Her blonde hair and those bright blue eyes. And I hugged her like there was no tomorrow. Everyone awed and smiled seeing my reaction. Once we broke away from each other I rushed to introduce her to all my friends. Cortney and Lilly were very happy to finally meet her and all my other friends. But more of acquaintances pretend to know who she was.

We danced and did karaoke together. Halfway through the night people started to filter out and Paige and I snuck off to my room. It's a very big room considering it's the master. Thanks to my parents never actually living here. We talked and caught up. But I couldn't help but notice the way she was looking at me.

Raking her eyes up and down my body. I thought I can't look that different from this summer. But I did go up two whole bra sizes and my hairs longer now. Not to mention this dress is way shorter than anything I would ever wear around my grandparents house.

At one point I had asked her something and she didn't respond. I watched her look at me. Still not saying a word. She just looked me in my eyes as she moved closer to me. She knelt down on the bed next to me. She set her hands on the side on my hips and leaned her face closer and closer to mine. Soon enough her soft lips brushed against mine and she kissed me.

She kissed me. And she kept kissing me. She leant herself into me more. Pushing the two of us further back onto the bed. My back came in contact into with the pillows and she placed her body on-top of mine. My legs wrapped around her waist and my dress hiked up even further on my legs.

She ran her hands down my hips and up my lower thighs pushing my dress up even further. Revealing my bedazzled Victoria's Secret thong. She sat me up and began to unzip my dress from the back. Revealing the matching bra as she tossed it somewhere across the room.

I flipped us over sitting comfortably on her lap as I began to take off her shirt. It was gone in no time along with her skirt. And soon enough we were both completely naked. We started to touch each other and she said the sweetest things. Complimenting me and talking to me sweetly as she made me feel a way I had never felt before.

We spent the rest of the night tangled in one another.

Spring of 2020

I've known what college I'm going to since last fall. When UConn reached out I knew there was no other option. I've been dreaming of going there since I was little and now my dreams are finally coming true. Plus now I'm only going to be 2 hours way from JJ. Well I think so.

She hasn't decided yet she was offered so many scholarships from so many colleges. She just dosent know what she wants to do yet. So know when we're on FaceTime because she told me she had big news I'm waiting very anxiously for her to just spit it out.

She's still my best friend even after what happened on her sixteenth birthday. Not that we have even talked about it in the first place. "I'm going to UConn." Her words caught in my mind. No way. Not possible.

"What?" I said. That's all I could say. "I'm going to UConn. I want to major in sports marketing and broadcasting. My mom and dad know. They questioned why not Columbia all that stuff but. I know. I already set my commitment email." She said anxiously.

"That's amazing we're going to be living together again finally." I said smiling and laughing watching the way her face immediately lit up.

Spring of 2022

Was I mad at her yes. But did she need me yes. Paige and I are currently on the outs considering she has a new girlfriend yet again. I've been in love with her for years now but she doesn't seem to care. Not feel the same. I make it so obvious and all she does is go out and date other girls.

They all hate me considering the fact that we still hang out and cuddle and do all the things we've always done. But right now. When her parents are on the next flight out and she's sitting in the hospital bed with a career threatening injury. She needs me.

I'm sitting next to her squished into this tiny bed. Her surgery is in 3 hours and she's scared half to death. Not for the surgery. But for the recovery. Tearing an ACL isn't something that heals quickly. She's out until the 2024 season. If she's lucky. She'll need lots of rehab and physical therapy before she we'll even be able to walk again. Let alone play basketball.

She's not stopped crying and all I can do is hold her. She told me her new girl toy. Abby her name is. Broke up with her. For the way I reacted to her injury. It was mid game and me being a basketball intern was right there with her on the court and every step of the way. All up until now.

She told me she wasn't upset about that but more because of her injury. She cried and cried and I held her reassuring her. It was about time for her to go back to surgery when I decided to give her a little pep talk.

"Paige you are the strongest person I know. This recovery will see you coming and run. You're going to destroy it. You are going to come back and be the same amazing basket ball player I know you can be. And I'm going to be there for you every step of the way ok. We're pb and j we got this." I said before I kissed her on her cheek and she was wheeled off.
