The following morning Niles had a morning meeting. His entire body was aching, sure his wife didn't allow him in bed nor the spare rooms but another crazy thing is that she realised that the couches were comfortable so she pointed him to the floor.

He took it anyway, he was only allowed in bed at 3am in the morning. That was only because she couldn't properly sleep either and even so, they spent the remaining hours before morning making love, a new love language he had promised himself to learn.

"Good morning, here's the brief."

Allon said handing him a file as they found their seat s. The cards were UNO reversed, instead of them trying to get clients; they were the clients.

"You look worn out." Allon sarcastically said.

He looked at him and Allon chuckled, content having annoyed him on the first try.

"Good morning."

Mr Alexandra greeted walking in.

"Why are you here?" Niles asked without sparing a moment.

"That-"

"Good morning." Greeted a man disturbing the interaction.

He walked in with his colleagues, filling the whole boardroom space. Niles cast his eyes to Allon who nodded before looking at the CEO of the other company.

Wayne Jones had been in the industry for relatively a couple of years. He had experience in the field better than anyone and Allon had recommended him first when Niles raised up a need for a strategist when it came to embarking on a new sector of clients.

Wayne had been somewhat of a friend to the pair but that was back in college. He got suspended for breaking the rules back then, but never trialed for the laws he had broken within the state.

Though Niles could barely recall him, seeing him seat on the opposite chair brought a couple of fucked up memories back. Wayne could have been worse than him, especially if he never broke his nose for harrassing a freshman and breaking a couple of ribs of the partners he acquainted himself with.

Wayne had hated him for it, severed tied even but then beggers can't be choosers. He needed Niles more than Niles needed him.

The proposal had been going on for an hour and a half. Niles kept glancing at his watch as his father asked back and forth with Allon taking notes or atleast he thought he was until Allon slipped the paper in front of him.

The red security is on.

It said.

Niles looked at him with a frown and Allon showed him the laptop. It was red inked, he reached for his phone and the red illuminated flashing on and off on the screen.

Allon's eyes met the phone and began packing up without asking any questions.

The red security had been off for years. It was the largest signal within his illegal business. It meant one thing and one thing only.

They were under attack.

The red security system not only passed on the message but it completely shut down access to prevent security compromise. It had been the best feature into protecting his information, not just from enemies but the cartel as well because though he owned the cartel; he didn't own the people within it.

"Is everything-"

"Mr Alexandra needs to be somewhere, you can proceed in the presence of the chairman."

Allon said following a rushed Niles out.

"How long until the red wall falls?"

"Any second now."
