"I thought you quit, I didn't see you at all today."

Allon said coming to a stand in front of her.

"Hey.."

She quietly said, running her gaze at him.

"Is it knock of time?"

"Surprisingly so."

"Oww" she replied looking at the files.

The never ending pile that she was going through,

"You're taking me home?" She asked.

"Seems like it...yes"

He said looking at his watch.

"Okay..."

She said standing up.

"Did you eat?" Allon asked noticing that she was completely out of it.

"My head needs a little rest but I'm okay."

"Right...okay."

He took his phone out and began typing, while she packed up. She took a couple of files to go and handed them to him before beginning to walk off.

He took them and didn't ask anything.

"Are you okay?"

"Why?" She asked giving him a third glance in a spare of moment since he started driving.

"You don't look-"

"I'm fine, it's just- I knew the company was doing great but I didn't think it was this great. It's crazy, very impressive."

"How far are you with the readings?"

"Waay further back, but I did bother myself to look at last year's analysis for comparison. Everything seems on point."

He nodded pressing the elevator, the office was quiet. Everyone had already left, time seemed to not move at all while she buried herself in the files.

They made it to his car and she took a nearby file and went through it while the car ride was silent.

"Allon." She started.

"I- well see I-"

"If it's about what happened that day, don't stress about it. He's always been a nut job."

He replied with a chuckle. Her cheeks flushed a d she tucked her hair refusing to meet his gaze.

"It's fine." He quietly said.

She nodded, clearing her voice.

"You're responsible for the proposals right?" She asked.

He looked at her still smiling and then nodded before looking straight ahead.

"Most times."

"And you propose deals to the clients?"

She asked again still navigating through the file in front of her.

"To the CEO and Chairman before the client. Getting their approval before the client's is important. It minimises any mistake or negligence that might occur."

"Mhh so do they seat in just the Elite client proposals or every proposal?"

"The CEO sits for every one of the proposals and the Chairman for the elites."

"Let me guess, while you deal with elite clients. Everyone else deals with regular clients and they still have to propose to both you and Niles before the client."

He nodded, impressed that he couldn't even hide it.

"Yeah, that's- that's always been the strategy."

"It's an effective strategy."

She closed her eyes letting herself to rest comfortably as a familiar road emerges. He stole a glance twice or thrice before focusing back on the road.

"Alexandra is already home waiting for you."

With a frown she opened her eyes as his pair met hers.

"Is he early or am I late?."

"You're 2 hours late."

She groaned slipping on her shoes as the car comes to a stop infront of their house.

"Thanks for the ride."

Security detail opened her door and she asked another to get the files from the back seat. Neyra had been standing by the door carrying a pair of comfortable shoes.

She smiled then looked at Allon for the last time with the same smile and began for the house. She changed her shoes right by the door step.

"Hey.."

"I prepared a bath for you."

"Niles?"

"Balcony."

She nodded and made her way over.

"I'm well aware of what I'm doing.." He said with a turn meeting her gaze.

His eyes softened, he cut the call and she went to him and buried herself in his arms.

Niles had been holding her and brushing her hair before he heard tiny sobs.

"Baby.."

He whispered trying to pull her off him so he can look at her but she held on tight shaking her head no.

"Are you crying?" He asked frowning.

"What happened? Did someone hurt you?"

She shook her head no.

"Then what happened?"

Raising her head up, her eyes sparkled meeting his. Her eyelashes separated by tears with her face a different shade of red.

"You said you were going to work then you didn't come to work. You didn't call, you didn't even come check on me or even walk past to your office."

He chuckled.

"I had work outside office today."

She pushed him folding her arms.

"It's not funny."

She sulked.

"And I didn't laugh, but you know I don't really like being at the office. I just feel stuck and unproductive."

"You never told me that, and you didn't tell me you were working out of office either. "

"I'm sorry."

She kept her posture still looking upset.

"Peaches?"

He asked seeing Neyra walk past with a bowl.

"You didn't eat today, you know you're supposed to eat if- if you want to be productive."

She contemplated, she had completely forgotten about the possibility of a human being growing inside of her.

"I saw you enjoyed the peaches at the lunch so Neyra bought you some."

"Fine, I'll have them but I'm not sleeping with you tonight and you're not sleeping in the spare rooms either."

"Why?"

"Because I said so"

She got up and walked to the kitchen to feast on the fruit.

He chuckled trailing behind her. He watched her eat, contentment filled in his entire chest because he wouldn't have it any other way. A happy wife, a happy marriage and a happy home. Even if she's angry about something at the moment.
