Semira Davis was content working alongside Jefferson Pierce. It had always been Black Lightning and Storm; Jefferson and Semira. That was the way things went; until it didn't.
It was no secret that her mentor had wanted to be apart of the Justice League. Which is exactly why she swallowed her pride and doubts, opting to instead be happy for the next step in his hero life.
She thought the changes would stop there, however, they did not. Semira didn't know what it was, but she had a problem with voicing her feelings. She would rather let the storm of emotions consume her than say it out loud. The girl would let them swirl inside her if it meant seeing her mentor achieve his dreams.
The original plan was to only come around when needed. She couldn't picture the big shot leaguer's sidekicks wanting to mingle with someone who had been doing this for a shorter time than them. What Semira didn't expect was to find herself growing closer to the team and to find a family.

this will be focusing on the initial distance semira tries to keep from the team and her internal conflict as well as how the events of later seasons affect her relationship with dick. i have moved around the plot a tiny bit to fit her and black lightning into season 1
