05| Dangerous Discretions." Nice house," Orea stated, looking around the cozy-looking house; Ceaser chuckled, putting together the pieces of paper scattered around the table, " where did you move here from?" She questioned, playing with her ring; Ceaser took his time before replying; he made sure to put together the stack of paper.
" Seattle, I moved here from Seattle,"
" Ah, I see," amusement showed in her eyes, " Seattle, the Emerald City itself, " it was silent again, just the pitter patter of the heavy rain and the sound Ceaser made as he moved around the cozy parlor, picking up his laptop, and the stacks of paper while Orea made herself comfortable on a chocolate L shaped couch, " so... Are you here for a visit or a permanent stay?" Her words broke the silence.
" It depends,"
"On?" Ceaser opened up the box of cookies before him.
" on how early my work here is done,"
"Hm," they went quiet again; Ceaser now had his eyes on her all while he munched on his cookie; Orea wasn't the type to be intimidated by gaze yet; she couldn't hold him, so she did what she knew best, " am I that beautiful? You can't seem to take your eyes off me." She sassed, shrugging.
Ceaser took his time, " you are," he did reply, taking her aback; she wasn't expecting him to be so blunt, but now she was uncomfortable. So she took her eyes away from him, her gaze sweeping over the room, her head quickly memorised as much as she could about the room.
The plush couch was deep chocolate; the rug was beige, and the room itself was painted beige. There was a coffee table where he placed the cookie box, and from there, she could see the kitchen; it was a whole other world of chocolate and beige.
Her gaze returned to Ceaser; she knew she had been ignoring it, yet, deep down, she could see that he had things to hide beneath those shady orbs of his; he was dangerous, a very dangerous human, especially for her. Still, his danger seemed all too comfortable to be around.
" You should have some," he stated, pushing the Cookie box towards her; his words might sound like a suggestion, yet they never seemed to be suggestions, more like orders, so she took a few cookies and placed them in her mouth, a moan escaped her mouth at the flavor.
Her baking skill was what she was most proud of, her delights were always mouthwatering, " this is lovely," she moaned out once again, her eyes closed, however, the temperature of the room seemed to drop, and her eyes opened once again, Orea was ready to shrink when her gaze clashed with Ceaser's intense ones.
Moaning when she ate was one of her habits she had and hated; she couldn't stop herself before she realized what she had done; Ceaser settled into the couch, now gazing at her lips; Orea was a shade deeper. She hated this, she hated how he was making her feel.
They settled into silence, and Orea made it a point not to pick up another cookie; the rain took a while to settle down, and Orea, on the other hand, was up and ready to leave, unable to deal with the tension in the room.
"I will be back," Ceaser told her; he headed inside before she could stop him, and then he was back, two umbrellas in hand; despite her protest, he walked her home.
Orea was glad to be away from him and able to breathe, " where have you been?" Ana said from the kitchen, making Orea screech at her sudden voice; Ana laughed, "Who was that guy? I can't believe you are already dating someone, and you couldn't tell me about it,"
" We are not dating," she defended.
"Of course you are," Ana turned on the light, making herself visible; she was in just a t-shirt and no panty, and hair was packed up in a rough, miserable attempt on a bun. Who the hell packs up a shoulder-length hair? Orea raised a brow at her.
" Whatever, I am sure you were glad I wasn't around," she shrugged, placing down her back, " you, after all, were too busy getting laid to notice my absence. Was he good?"
Ana fake gasped, drinking water from the fridge," how'd you know that?!"
" If the dressing and excuse for a bun didn't give you away, the smell of sex does and the way the whole house is scattered, you are not even in a panty," Orea shrugged.
Ana scoffed, " you know too much for a novice, I am impressed," her hand was on her chest, her face lit in a mocking grin.
Scoffing, Orea asked, "what are you making? I am starving"
" Your man didn't get you anything to eat,"
Orea groaned, " he is not my... Ugh, forget it, I couldn't eat, I went to deliver cookies to him but the fool didn't open the door earlier and I got caught in the rain, he offered I stayed with him, I did, he offered cookies, I ate but I started moaning, ugh! It was embarrassing"
By the time she was done speaking, Ana who was trying too hard to hold in her laughter threw her head back, roaring in laughter, " ah," she wiped a stray tear from her cheek, " I love hearing you discuss how you felt when you find yourself in embarrassing situations, it gives me joy,"
" Whatever, just do what you have to, I have a long day tomorrow,"
" You always do, ugly duckling,"
" Whatever, Barbie,"
Ana huffed, then they settled in silence, they both knew what tommorow was, it was a bad day for the both of them, they both had horrible experiences on the same day, way before they met, perhaps it was why they clicked despite the personality difference. That day just did something to them.
" Where are you spending tommorow?" It was Ana who asked.
"I am heading out of town,"
" We will meet up later and spend the night together, I-" she let out a shaky breath, " I don't want to spend the night alone," she added.
" Sure," Orea offered a smile, she stood up, walked over and hugged Ana, " I will be here for you, meaningless,"
"Meaningless," Ana assented.
After that, they ate dinner quietly then both of them went to sleep.
