25| Carol in Discretion.

Orea had not spoken a word since she walked out of the hospital, they had, they had met Lucian there but the lad still had the gul to smile at Orea, he had expected him to breakdown. 'Orea hasn't' a small voice reminded him, Ceaser had expected her to cry her eyes out yet she didn't but she had not been herself since then. 'Well, what do you expect, she lost her best friend' his inner self had told him, he sent Orea a glance, her dark, lifeless orbs stayed on the road yet he could see she saw nothing.

They arrived at the house and he got down, Orea refused to say a word as they walked into the house, he knew the feeling of loosing someone you love, he knew how he had been too so he made for her, hand on her shoulder as he pulled her in for a word, not bothering to say anything... He had nothing to say. Orea didn't cry, Infact she didn't break bit she allowed him to console her, eyes closed as he worked his finger into her air.

They stay like that until she fell limp in his arms, it took everything in him not to panick as she looked at her rising and falling chest...  She was only asleep! He led her to his bed, laid her down and laid with her. He was only falling asleep before a scream jerked him awake, heart thumping, be tried to wake her up. "Wake up, Orea it just a dream," he offered yet she wouldn't bulge. "Orea! Orea wake up." When it didn't work, he resorted to pulling her in and working his hand through her hair till she calmed down and fell asleep.

Days passed and he didn't leave her side as she grieved, though she refused to cry.Liliana had died simple dead, atleat that was what he thought, the report showed she had been induved with an heart attack drug, simply put, she died of an heart attack. On the third day of her grief, the moment he dreaded came. Orea wanted to meet the culprit.

He had been in the kitchen, making breakfast when Orea walked in. "I told you to sit Orea, you shouldn't be here."

"I am not your dog, you can't just tell me to sit and expect me to." Ceaser should feel guilty yet a little part, Infact a huge part of him was glad she still had little fire in her, knowing she wouldn't leave, he resigned and turned to the chicken he was frying. "I want to meet him." He flinched. 'It isn't a him, it's a her' he so badly wanted to tell her yet he didn't.

"When?" There was no avoiding this, it was better to be done with it.

"Now." And there it was again, the tightness in his chest, he offered her a nod before sighing.

"Only if you eat first." The retort he expected never came, instead she nodded and waited till he was done, once she was done eating, which was barely a five spoon, she pushed away the plates saying she was full. There went his plan to stall, they arrived at the police station, everyone was bustling around yet he could make out Gomez's bulk among the buzz, "this way," he placed his hand on his lower back.

"Hey." Gomez was at least better than the last time he saw him. "Hey Firefox." He greeted Orea and to Ceaser's surprise Orea offered Gomez a nod, "I am sorry for your loss." He added, Orea flinched but she steeled her gaze and offers him a nod.

"Where is he?" Orea still believe the killer was a he. Gomez raised a brow at Him. His silent question lingering between them before Ceaser glared back.

"This way please." They were led through the back door to the interrogation room where SHE was held, "she has been really compliant with us." This was yet another thing that baffled Ceaser. Yes she was close to Orea but that didn't meant she would give just for murdering a friend's friend, besides, up untill week ago, he also believed the killer to be a man but it was a woman, a SHE, one he knew too well.

Orea's gasp brought Ceaser out of his reverie in time for him to hold onto Orea whose knees buckled and gave out beneath her. "Carol?" Yes, Carol was the culprit, caught red handed as she carried Ana's body out to dump it, not only that, she had also confessed, rather too easily for his liking. He would have said he was surprised but after years of this, well, nothing surprised him anymore.

"How can it be her, you must be mistaken, Carol would never, she would never kill Ana or anyone." Orea turned to look at him, it was then he relived that the woman he had yet to confess the feelings for, the fiery Orea had finally broken, his heart clenched, so did his fist, he had never felt a sudden rush of emotion so as that before, the sudden urge to kill, he directed his gaze to Carol who wouldn't meet anyone's eyes yet his rage wasn't for her. The Brunette was hiding something, something he would fish out of her.

Orea's sob was what brought him back to reality, he had never experienced love as with what he did from Orea, she had shown him the love he never got from his parents who died long before he could walk or from his uncles and aunts who only cares for the money they would feed off of him yet Orea... The woman who has shown him so many things, there she was, broken before he could confess.

Tightening his hold around her, he helped her numb body out of the room and picked her up when she couldn't walk, he vowed to make the killer pay, he had promised and he would uphold his promise, but Orea comes first before anything, so he held her as she cried in his arms till sleep took over. He vowed to protect her but he couldn't, not from heartbreak or grief, all he could do was help prevent grief from engulfing her like his did him.
