❄ Chapter 12 ❄

At the dinner table, I spent the whole time shoveling food into my mouth to avoid contact with Aether. I kept my eyes down on my food and only talked to Bonnie about updates on school.

"Hey, did you know that Fara got suspended for a week?" Bonnie turned towards me swiftly. That's it? But I didn't want to ask that outloud.

"Really?" I asked, feigning interest.

"Yeah," Aether's voice made me turn my head towards him, but as soon as I did, I looked down at my food again. Damn that sly bastard. "Since there weren't any evidence about her harming Bonnie, she only has a week."

"But isn't me falling unconscious reason enough to have her suspended for longer?" Oh gosh, I sound like a brat.

"Ms. Lee wanted to keep that a secret. She fed the school some bull. I don't get why though," Bonnie clarified. I waited for her to finish her food; she's been eating a lot more now. Thank goodness she's gotten over her insecurities. As soon as she got the last bite in her mouth, I got up and dragged her behind me.

"I have to talk to you about something," I stated and she stopped resisting.

As soon as we reached her room and I closed the door, she turned towards me with the same suggestive look. "Is it about a guy?"

"No," I lied, and landed on her bed facing the ceiling.

"Liar. I could see your blush. Now spit it out," Bonnie demanded, landing on the bed next to me. And so I did, but omitted Aether's name. I was instantly regretting all the squeals that Bonnie shouted out.

"It's love," Bonnie sighed dramatically, spreading her arms out on the bed. I shook my head.

"You watch too much chick flicks. So what should I do?"

"Hey! Chick flicks help deal with these situations. I'd say you should let him in. Like in all those movies, the flawed girl and the hot guy fall for each other and all their problems are gone," she said, eyes glazed over. I smacked her forehead lightly.

"Must I remind you that this is not one of your movies?" I said, ignoring her sounds of pain. I turned towards her and noticed that she really was in pain.

"What happened? Are you ok?" I asked hurriedly, lifting my hand to check her forehead, but she raised her arm and I paused.

"Chill. It's alright. Just a little shock. Here, we can solve this with gloves." Bonnie jumped off her bed and rushed to her vanity mirror, opening one of the drawers and rummaging through the contents in it. "Come here, pick whichever. But make sure you fit them though."

I sighed, knowing that it was a temporary solution until my training. I just chose white long gloves that went up to the elbows. Trying them on, I was pleased that it fit like a glove. Pun intended.

"So, where were we? Oh, right. But just saying, two people sharing a burden makes it lighter. This guy can be the light you see from the dark bottom of the sea. He can lead you away and comfort you and kiss you to sleep, and cuddle with you," she sighed again. I blushed a little at the last part. Little does she know that we were at that level already...

"I'm just going to ignore the last part. And by the way, it seems really unrealistic." I turned on my side so that she didn't see my blush.

"You know what? We're watching something right now. Let's go to the living room," and she dragged me to the living room that has a huge tv on it.

"Why isn't anyone else in here?" I asked, unsettled by the emptiness of the room.

"Oh, sorry. It's kind of a private living room that only Aether, me, Cavean, Elfanse has the key to," Bonnie explained.
