The sun was beginning to set as Bakugo and Izuku stood on the roof of the school building. They were both a bit stiff after their recent run-in with their mothers, who had, to put it lightly, not been thrilled about the stunt they'd pulled at the quirk doctor's office. Bakugo's ears still rang with the sound of his mom's angry voice. Izuku's mom had practically dragged him back home with threats of "grounding" him for eternity.
But that was behind them now.
Bakugo was leaning against the roof, arms crossed, looking as though he was deep in thought. He stared off into the distance, but his mind was racing. He'd been mulling over the doctor's revelation all day: Izuku's fire could be fueled by cigarettes. A strange and dangerous solution, but the only one they had.
And now, he was wondering... when the hell was he going to buy those cigarettes?
The school day had ended, and Bakugo knew that tomorrow would be another day under the strict supervision of their mothers. He was beginning to wonder if he'd even have time to buy them at all.
Izuku was standing next to him, looking up with wide eyes. "Kacchan? What are you thinking about?"
Bakugo blinked, his smirk reappearing. "I'm thinking about how we're gonna get those cigarettes."
Izuku raised an eyebrow. "Huh? You mean you're actually going to buy them?"
Bakugo let out a laugh, but it was more of a growl than anything. "Of course I am. I'm not letting your quirk go to waste because some dumb rule says 'no cigarettes.' Besides, what's the worst that could happen? They'll probably be on sale like some kind of weird energy drink." He grinned. "I've got a plan."
Izuku blinked. "A plan?"
"Yeah," Bakugo said, pacing back and forth with a glint of excitement in his eyes. "I'll get those cigarettes in a way no one will ever see coming. I'm thinking... I'll do it before Mom gets home tomorrow."
Izuku's eyes widened. "But... won't she notice if you smell like smoke? Won't she be mad?"
Bakugo shot him a look. "That's why I'm not going to buy them in the usual way, idiot! This is going to be smooth, fast, and no one will ever suspect a thing. You just gotta trust me, okay?"
Izuku scratched his head. "I don't know, Kacchan. This whole thing feels a little... weird."
"Yeah? You think I don't know that?" Bakugo snapped. "But sometimes, you gotta make sacrifices for greatness. And we're going to be heroes, Izuku! If we're gonna do it, we're gonna do it right."
Izuku sighed but gave a reluctant nod. "Okay, I guess... I trust you, Kacchan."
Bakugo smirked again, this time more wickedly. "Good. Get ready for tomorrow, because we're gonna pull off the perfect heist."
Izuku, looking completely out of his depth, nodded. "A heist...?"
Bakugo turned, a fire in his eyes. "Oh yeah. A heist. We're gonna get those cigarettes, and nothing's gonna stop us. Not even your mom."
Izuku gulped. "Uh, okay. But, uh... what exactly is the plan?"
"Leave that to me." Bakugo grinned, his usual cocky smile now gleaming. "I've got it all figured out."
-----
The bell rang sharply, signaling the start of the morning break. Izuku sighed, already bracing himself. Every single day, it was the same. The moment the bell rang, the crowd of adoring fans, teachers, and even the principal would swarm around him, all cooing about how cute he was. He couldn't help it. He had the appearance of a child, and no matter how many times he tried to explain it was just his quirk... the attention never stopped.
