After the chaos at the USJ, Izuku and Bakugo made their way back to U.A. in silence, both exhausted from the brutal encounter with the villains. The day had been a whirlwind of danger, and despite All Might's victory, the weight of the encounter still lingered. As they approached the Midoriya household, the place where izuku and Katsukis mothers had told both of to be at by 6, the feeling of relief began to wash over Izuku, but he could sense Bakugo's usual anger and frustration just beneath the surface.

Izuku stepped into his house first, Bakugo following behind him. The moment the door opened, the warmth of home greeted them, but so did the concerned gazes of their mothers. Mitsuki, Bakugo’s mother, was already standing by the door, her arms crossed tightly across her chest. In contrast, Inko stood by the kitchen, wringing her hands with an expression full of worry.

“Izuku! Katsuki! Are you alright?” Inko rushed forward, her voice trembling slightly as she enveloped her son in a tight hug. “What happened at USJ? We saw the news, but they only said something about villains. Are you okay?”

Bakugo’s mother didn’t move, but she shot him a look that was a mixture of concern and frustration. "Katsuki, don't think you're getting away with not telling me what happened today."

Izuku, though exhausted, gently pushed Inko back and gave her a reassuring smile. "We’re fine, Mom," he said calmly, despite the lingering tension in his chest. "Nothing happened. We weren't even involved in the fight. We were just... keeping our distance."

Inko raised an eyebrow, looking at him closely, but she seemed to relax a little. "You sure? You both look a bit tired. Maybe you should rest."

Bakugo, who had been standing silently beside Izuku, had already started to speak up, his usual scowl fixed firmly on his face. "Oi, Nerd, you—"

Before Bakugo could say anything further, Izuku quickly shot a hand up and placed it over his mouth, silencing him with a single, quick motion. "Bakugo’s just upset that he didn’t get to fight any villains," Izuku said with a nonchalant smile, his voice cheerful as he attempted to steer the conversation away from the truth. "He’s frustrated because it wasn't as intense as he expected. Right, Bakugo?"

Bakugo, visibly annoyed by the interruption, tried to push Izuku’s hand away, but he didn’t say anything. He simply grunted in frustration, crossing his arms in a typical display of annoyance.

Izuku shot him a knowing look before turning back to their mothers. "Don’t worry, Mom. We were safe. Nothing happened that we couldn’t handle. We’ll just get some rest and be ready for tomorrow."

Inko didn’t seem entirely convinced, but she nodded slowly. “Alright, Izuku, I trust you.” She shot Bakugo a curious glance. “And you too, Katsuki. Just... please be careful, alright?”

Bakugo grunted in response, his usual defiant expression softening just a bit as he looked away. “Tch, whatever.”

Izuku gently nudged him toward the stairs. "Come on, Bakugo. Let's get some rest."

With a quick wave to their mothers, the two boys made their way up to Izuku’s room. Izuku closed the door behind them, finally letting out a long sigh, feeling the tension leave his shoulders as he leaned against the door.

"That was too close," Izuku muttered, glancing over at Bakugo. "You know I had to cover for you, right?"

Bakugo glared at him, rubbing the back of his neck in frustration. "Tch, yeah, whatever, Nerd. I don’t need your help."

Izuku smirked at him, clearly amused by his friend’s reaction. "Don’t be mad, Bakugo. I’ll let you get some villain-fighting action next time," he teased.
