Chapter 21: Each One Had a Reason

Lilly wakes up to an empty bed and the shower running, she sits up with a soft groan before looking at the time. It read 9:30.

Letting out a yawn, she gets up and walks into the bathroom before shutting the door quietly and walking over to the shower door. She makes sure Stu's back is facing her before she slides in quietly, careful not slip.

She freezes when her eyes catch the scar where Billy stabbed him in his arm, Stu continues to rinse his hair without noticing.

Her heart aches as she remembers when Billy stabbed him three times in his body, how much blood he lost.

"Now, Sid, don't you blame the movies." Billy says, "Movies don't create psychos. Movies make psychos more creative!" He shouts before stabbing Stu again.

Stu shouts in pain, "Stop it, Billy. Would ya, alright? I can't take anymore." He whimpers, "I'm feeling a little woozy here!"

She steps forward, "Can I tell you something?"

Stu flinches at the sound of her voice, "Jesus, baby. You scared me." He chuckles as he turns to her, "Of course. You can tell me anything."

Lilly's eyes catch his lower stomach scar, the first time Billy stabbed to which he was so eager.

Billy smirks, "Watch this." He pushes Sidney away and walks closer to Stu. "Ready?" He asks him.

"Yeah. Yeah!" Stu shouts as he puts his arms behind his head, "I'm ready, baby! Hit it! Get up!" He encourages Billy who smiles at him. "Yeah, man, get up! Hit it!" He shouts, making Billy stab him. Stu groans in pain before nodding, "Good one, man. Jesus."

"Baby? You okay?" Stu furrows his brows as she stares at his scar, he looks down and back up at her. "What is it?"

"You know why, Billy stabbed you so many times?" Lilly bites her lip, nervously. She rolls it between her teeth as she plans her next words carefully.

"What? What are you talking about?" Stu asks, confused at why she would bring this up.

Lilly gulps nervously as she releases her lip, "I asked him.... t--...to stab you three times." She admits softly.

Stu frowns, "Lilly, what are you talking about?" He asks, his voice lowering as his expression is slowly turning angrier.

Lilly covers her breasts as she crosses her arms, "It was a while ago when you were still flirting back and forth with your precious Casey." She says through gritted teeth before taking a breath and continuing, "It was that day that you lied to me about Billy to watch football practice with her."

Lilly smiles as she walks up to Stu, who was at his locker. "Hey, Stuie. Ready for our double study date?" She giggles.

"Hey, baby." Stu smiles back as he pecks her lips, "I gotta cancel today. I'm sorry but I'm meeting Billy at the field so we can talk more about the plan. Rain check?" He softly smiles as he kisses her cheek, he shuts his locker before walking away.
