Rosalie Williams
After we left the shop we took a moment to grab some lunch. Which again, Paige paid for.
Now, I sit patiently in this shoe store watching Paige try on different pairs.
"Which ones do you think are betting, these ones, of this one?" She asks showing me two boxes of shoes. I point to the white shoes with green accents. "I think these ones are really nice" I smile.
She nods before we leave to check out.
"Anything else you need?" She asks.
"Yes I just really quickly need to go in there and grab something" I say, pointing towards the large shop ahead of us.
I turn to look at Paige and I watch her cheeks heat up. "Oh uh, yeah okay"
The store in question is a bra and panties store. I chuckle, "I'll be quick promise"
Entering the store I head for what I know I need. Paige follows awkwardly behind me. Gently I pick through the bras in front of me looking for my size. I glance to Paige, who's looking almost anywhere but the pieces of clothing in front of her.
Picking up two of the lace like bras I walk to the counter, "Paige, come on" she quickly follows behind me.
This time paying for my own items, Paige is quick to leave the store. "You act as if you don't wear bras" I laugh.
"Well I don't usually wear those kinds" she mumbles.
"Aww well you survived didn't you" I giggle wrapping my arm around her bicep resting my head against it.
"Yeah yeah, whatever" she says attempting to hide her smile.
"Can I go to the washroom really quick? Then I promise I'm all done" I ask.
"Yeah for sure, I'll wait for you out here" she says, walking to take a seat on the bench.
Walking through the quiet hallway I pass an older looking man, and a small girl and her mother. The small girl looks up at me and smiles, I do the same and wave.
After washing my hands I walk out the door patting my hands down on my pants, I hate the hand dryers, they're too loud.
Walking through the hallway once more I can see Paige sitting on her phone. But before I can make it much further I feel a hand on my wrist.
"Damn girl, aren't you a pretty thing?" The man's voice says.
"Oh, um thank you?" I reply, uncomfortable with the way this is going. I try to politely take my wrist away but can't seem to be able to when he tightens his grip.
"Hey why don't you stay for a bit.. have a little fun"
His smile grows, my eyes widen.
"N-no thank you, um m-my friend is waiting I need to go"
The man's other hand snakes down my hips to my backside, giving it a small squeeze.
I gasp, "sir! P-please take your hands off me"
"Mm.. the thing is, I don't think I will"
I try to rip my hand away, but he just holds on tighter, his other hand comes up to grab my other wrist. He spins us around to press me against the cold stone wall.
"Stop! P-please! I just want to leave!"
He doesn't listen. Taking both my hands in one he slides his hand down my chest, to my stomach, and over the crotch of my pants.
I scream. "Stop! Help me!"
My eyes start to water. I shake in his grip, trying to free my hands from his grip.
I'm sobbing by this point. Why does this keep happening to me? What did I do to deserve these things.
"Hey!" A voice yells.
Within seconds the body in front of me is ripped off. A sob racks through my body, opening my eyes I watch as Paige hits the man righting the face. He stumbles to the ground. I crumble to the ground, not having the energy or will power to stay standing.
A security guard comes running down the hallway, "Paige" I whimper.
She has the man gripped by his collar, but when she hears my weak voice her head turns. Her hand drops him and his back hits the ground, his nose red with blood.
"Rosalie, Rosie baby.. are you okay? What happened" she questions frantically.
My hands are shaking, I look over to the security guard who has the man rolled over onto his stomach with his hands behind his back.
"I- I don't know Paige I just- I just went to the washroom and t-then I came back and he just- he just grabbed me and-" I couldn't finish my sentence without a sob taking over me.
"Why does this keep happening to me? Is it because of what I'm wearing? D-did I do something for him to think that I- that I wanted that? I didn't mean to! I promise I didn't.. I promise.."
I aggressively wipe my tears, but it doesn't matter because they are quickly replaced, I turn to see the crowd that has formed around us, people looking confused, annoyed, and concerned.
"No baby, no you didn't do anything, okay? Just try to calm your breathing yeah? For me?"
My body is shaking, I take my arms doing my best to cover my body. "I want to leave.. I- I don't want to be here, why is e-everyone looking at me.. I promise I didn't do anything wrong! I swear Paige.."
"No I know sunshine, I know okay, here take this" she says, taking her hands and pulling off her sweater. She takes it and places it over my head.
"Just wait here for a second okay?"
I frantically shake my head, "no! No please don't leave me, I'm sorry.. please" I whimper.
"Just for a second, I'll be only a few feet away okay?" She says standing up. She talks the officer on his shoulder and he turns. The man sits against the wall, his head hung low. Paige quickly speaks to the officer, hands moving left and right, her expression angry.
Not long after she left she walks back, "come on love let's get you out of here okay?" She holds out her hands and I take them, lifting me up she wraps her arm protectively around my waist. She ushers us through the crowd and wasting no time in getting us outside. I don't realize we're at her car until she speaks up.
"Rosalie? Hey, love look at me, you're okay, you're gonna be okay" she says gently.
I look up at her, and I can't hold back the tears. She frowns, wrapping her arms around me tightly. "Shh.. it's okay baby, I've got you. You didn't do anything wrong sunshine, nothing okay?"
I can't respond. "Why don't I take you back to my place okay? We don't have to do anything, we can watch movies, relax, sleep if you want, okay? Whatever you want" her hand rubs soothingly over my back.
I pull away, she takes her hands gently placing them over my face, she uses her thumbs to wipe away the tears covering my face.
I can only nod.
