"Oh, Amariah!" My father yelled. He ran over to me happy tears leaving his eyes. "Where were you!? He yelled putting his arms around me and jumping up and down happily like a little kid I couldn't do anything but laugh I closed my eyes In relief hugging my father back, I really couldn't believe I got out of that forest so quickly and It was all thanks to that weird Phoneix dude Ill have to thank the bald guys when I see him on the flip side. "I'm sorry Father you must be-" "No Amariah I'm just glad you're safe that's all I care about" He stepped back letting me breathe after the intervention "Now, did anything weird happen out there?" He asked somewhat shaky as If he wanted to hide something which he definitely was. "Well.." I contemplated telling him but he didn't want me to know about those weird abilities and the "upcoming war" and corrupted people for a reason why would he tell me now? "This one cave was so small not even a mouse could live there!" I said. "Oh Amariah" He laughed embracing me again. I'll figure out the history behind this City myself, he wants me trapped In the Kingdom because he's hiding secrets or at least that's what Phoneix told me. "Dinner Is prepared I'm sure you're hungry" He smiled letting go of me once again. "Starving" I was NOT Starving after I got caught kissing Karma In Mercys Office I was met with a meal for all my troubles, I'll probably throw up If I eat any more, to be honest, but I just followed my dad Into the kingdom gates. As soon as he dropped the gate again It happened, a wave of feelings came above me. I felt trapped. This was my first escape, I had never gone outside the castle except for that one time when I followed a cat to the backyard when I was 7 the knight quickly caught me before I could go anymore but I just realized, For a mind as curious as mine I've only left the castle once and no one ever Invites me out Is that to there own accord or Is my father pulling those strings why does he want me Inside so bad? I shook the thought out of my head as I saw him "JESTER JOLLY!" I exclaimed. He looked at me with dull eyes, no emotions In his eyebrows either and his mouth was closed, no warm welcoming he then turned around carrying the plate In his hand he walked away looking like a robot. "Jester Jolly?" I called out again. He kept walking, "Hey wait" I reached out but my hands were grabbed by my father. "He's just busy you can play with him later" I nodded feeling weirded out "The Jester never did actual house are we losing employees or something but then again the Jester hated cooking and cleaning he wouldn't take the job." There are just so many things I noticed while In the castle, the paintings around the dining room are so creepy my father said they were pictures of my mother and other family but it is almost as If there was something more. "Dad I do have a question, actually" I said sitting down In a chair by the rear end of the table he sat across from me and tilted his head to the side "What m-might that be, Amariah?" He was practically sweating. "When I was outside I discovered these weird people In the Forrest.." He jumped up from his chair "FORREST!?" He yelled his hands being thrown on the table causing dishes to go up and fall back on the table. " you can't go there !" He banged on the table once more. "I-i mean Its dangerous for a girl like you" "You won't go there Amariah, Oh please say you wont go back Into the forest" He pleaded. "Father, I can't say that I won-" He glared at me "Amariah who even took you there, I mean how did you make It out of the kingdom walls all the way to the  forest that's.." "Thats absurd!" he yelled still standing up. "Father your acting..." He glared "Who.took.you.there" Whoa my dad's never been so scary he's always shown me unconditional love and kindness he's never been mad at me this Is.. Unusual. "Karma dad, The one from the Knights family" He looked at me with a look. I can't describe It. It was like he would break down at any moment. "Didn't I tell you that boy was no good!" His voice raised In volume. "This Is why I told you to find you a nice prince not a thief from the countryside!" He scolded me. "D-dad Me and Karma aren't even.." I sighed. "Dad Me and Karma have nothing going on but please just tell me" He rolled his eyes "Amariah there's nothing to tell" I stood up "Then whats so dangerous about the forest Karma took me to, just tell me" I placed my hands on the table. "Nothing of a girl like you's concern" I tilted my head. "You keep saying that.." I was getting quite annoyed what Is he hiding about this forest but something I should be more worried about "War, Karma told me something about a war while I was In the forest, are we.." Tears formed. "Dad, are we gonna be okay?" I put my hands together as If I was pleading for my life. "Amariah...Of course, we're going to be okay the war wont-" He put his hands up to his mouth. "SO A WAR WILL HAPPEN?!" Silence was all that was heard. It was quiet. Quiet was what I was tired of. I just wanted my dad to tell me thing. Im not a little girl. "Dad this will soon be my kingdom you have to tell me these things!" A tear fell. "Oh Amariah, I don't mean to hurt you the war truly Isint anything to be scared of so I thought Its better you don't worry" He flashed me a smile but to no avail my fathers smile used to make me happy,we used to even smile together but now I think of It as fake, full of deception, his smile does not protect me anymore It's just a cover-up to his stupid "little white lies." "Excuse my language Father but what the fuck It's a whole war why Is the kingdom not evacuated by now, what about the horses, and who are we even fighting?!" He sat down not saying a word. "Amariah, let us eat before the food gets cold" He suggested another fake-ass smile plastered on his face. "No." His face flared up. "No?" "No?!" "What do you mean No Amariah why do you wish to displease me?" He asked. "Displease you?!" "You've been lying to me my whole life, In that forest I could've died because you want me to forever stay your little princess." "Oh, What's that supposed to mean?" He stood back up from his seat. "You want me oblivious to life outside this castle but In that forest, I saw a creature, a weird creature she seemed to be half animal half human" I couldn't help but smile talking about Mercy. "She had these weird abilities and I wondered does everyone In the forest has these abilities and for someone as kind as she was she was cast off Into the forest I wondered why the forests aren't meant for dangerous individuals but she..." A second tear fell. "She saved me dad, this weird beautiful creature saved me from something possibly horrible, showed me empathy, and talked to me like I was a friend I wonder why someone who was supposed to be a criminal would act that way but guess what she hates royalty" I slammed my hands on the table. "Why Is that Father?!" I began to cry. "F-father what have you done to those poor people!" I sigh. "Those kind, kind people don't deserve to be cast aside Miss Mercy has the power to send people through walls a powerful being what Is It, Are you scared?" "Father, why do you fear such unique people?" He looked up with a hostile glare, a glare I had never seen from my dad. "We're at war with the forest people Amarah stay away from that girl," he said his brows furrowed. "She seems good Dad I don't under- "THIS IS NOT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND!" He yelled with a clenched tight jaw and a wrinkled forehead. "Amariah you are a princess with no room to be involved with this war forget about the forest creatures you've encountered you were never supposed to know about abilities" "WANNA KNOW WHY?" He yelled. No, I didn't want to know why because I already had figured It out during our talk abilities as In powers, something I don't possess he hid that the world has powers because of fear I suppose. "why?" "Your not special Amariah to the world you shouldn't even be In this family" "Your my little princess but with no powers those horrible woodland creatures don't care about your status they are ruthless you came across one good one but your lucky they didn't know about your identity" "Dad...W-what a-re y-ou sayi..ng?" "YOUR WEAK AMARIAH" He yelled again. He's right. The forest people are about 70% of the kingdom. 70% of the kingdom is special but I'm not. I'm weak, not even worthy of the right of common knowledge. I ran out of the room leaving the potatoes and peas on my plate I couldn't let my dad see me breaking down, Is this true all this time I thought I was special since I was a princess but over half the world has something I can probably never get.
