Anya knocked on Ryder's door. He opened it, looking up from his laptop.
"Hey, what's up?"

"I was wondering if I could take tomorrow off?" Anya asked.

Ryder's expression changed. "Actually, we have social engagement."

Anya's curiosity piqued. "What is it?"

"Albert Winter's birthday party. We're invited."

Anya's eyes widened. "The Albert Winter's?"

Ryder nodded. "Yes. It's a significant networking opportunity."

Anya's mind raced. "I didn't pack for a party."

Ryder smiled. "I'll arrange for a dress to be delivered to your room."

Anya's eyes narrowed. "What time?"

"Be ready by 8 PM tomorrow. The car will pick us up."

Anya nodded. "Alright."

Ryder's gaze lingered. "Formal attire, Anya. We're representing The Ryder Industries."

Anya's lips curved. " I won't disappoint."

As she turned to leave, Ryder called out. "Oh, and Anya?"

"Yes?"

"Wear something stunning."

Anya's heart skipped a beat. Was that a hint of flirtation? Or just Ryder being Ryder?

Anya smiled wryly. "You've already arranged for the dress, remember?"

Ryder's expression turned sheepish. "Right. I forgot."

Anya's eyes sparkled. "No need to repeat instructions, Mr Ryder."

Ryder chuckled. "Point taken, Anya."

Their brief exchange dissolved the earlier tension. Anya turned to leave.
"Good night, Mr Ryder."
"Good night, Anya."

The door closed. Ryder's thoughts lingered on Anya's smile. A spark of amusement. He shook his head. Focus on the part and Albert Winter's hidden agenda.

Anya settled into bed, her mind replaying the day's events. Ryder's intense gaze. Their tense moments. Their brief, sparkling exchange.

She reminded herself: "Maintain composure, stay professional, and avoid getting too close." Anya's resolve hardened.

She couldn't let her emotions cloud her judgement. Not now. Not with Ryder. As she drifted off to sleep, Anya's thoughts whispered: " tomorrow's party. Keep your distance. Don't let him in." The darkness enveloped her. Sleep claimed her.

Across the dividing door, Ryder lay awake. His thoughts mirrored Anya's. "Tread carefully. Don't compromise business. Don't compromise himself."

The night wore on. Two minds, locked in separate worlds. Each battling their own desires. Each seeking control.

Anya woke up feeling refreshed. She decided to explore the city. Stepping out into the crisp morning air. The sounds and smells of the market enveloped her. Vibrant colours, exotic spices. Anya wandered, taking it all in. She haggled with vendors. Bought local handicrafts. Tasted street food, laughed with strangers. For the first time in weeks. She felt carefree no thoughts of Ryder, no tension just the thrill of discovery.

As the sun began to set. Anya returned to her room feeling rejuvenated. She unpacked her purchases. Admired the beautiful dress Ryder had arranged. Time to get ready for the party. Anya's thoughts turned to Ryder. Wondering what the night would bring.

Anya slipped into the black bodycon dress. The fabric hugged curves. The slit on the left side revealed a tantalizing glimpse of her thigh. The off- shoulder design accentuated her delicate shoulders.

She applied light makeup. Enhancing her natural glow. As she gazed in the mirror, her nerves fluttered. She'd never worn anything so revealing. Her conservative upbringing made her hesitant.

But Ryder's words echoed in her mind. "Wear something stunning." She took a deep breath. This was business networking not a date. Anya's hand smoothed the dress. She practiced a confident smile.

Ryder's knock on the door broke the silence. "Ready?" He called out. Anya's heart skipped a beat. She opened the door. Ryder's eyes widened. His gaze roamed her figure. Appreciation flickered in his eyes.

"Stunning," he whispered. Anya's cheeks flushed. "Thank you," she replied softly. Ryder offered his arm. "Shall we?" Anya's pulse quickened. She took his arm. Together, they headed to the party.
