Ryder and Anya headed to the meeting room together. The meeting concluded on a high note, with Ryder securing the deal. The room erupted in congratulations, and Ryder walked over to the CEO to discuss further details.

Anya remained behind, basking in the glow of their success. Suddenly, Victoria appeared, her face twisted in rage.

"You think you're so clever, don't you?" Victoria spat, her voice venomous." Stealing Ryder away from me and now, Robert's attention?"

The room fell silent, with all eyes on confrontation. Anya's face burned with humiliation as Victoria's words cut deep.

"I'll never apologise to a witch like you," Victoria sneered. "You're an attention seeker, always playing the victim. How did you gain Robert's attention, huh?  Wasn't Ryder good enough for you?"

Victoria's voice rose, her accusations becoming more vicious. "You think you've won, but this is just the beginning. You've started a war, and I'll make sure you regret it."

Anya's eyes welled up with tears as she stood frozen, unable to defend herself. She tried to speak, but her voice caught in her throat. With a whispered apology, she turned and fled the room, leaving behind a sea of whispering faces.

The CEO's assistant rushed to inform him of the commotion. "Sir, there's a situation unfolding. Victoria is causing a scene, and Anya has left the  room in distress."

The CEO, Mr. Wilson and Ryder rushed to the scene. Ryder's expression darkened as he took in the situation.

Victoria, still fuming, stood her ground. "This is all her fault," she spat, pointing at the empty space where Anya has stood. "She's a manipulative little witch."

Ryder's anger boiled over. " That's enough, Victoria," he warned, his voice low and menacing. "I have the CCTV footage of you spiking Anya's drink. You're not going to get away with this."

Victoria's demeanor changed in an instant. She smiled sweetly, attempting to manipulate Ryder. "Why don't we just put this behind us, Ryder? I'm single now, and I must say, you look more handsome than ever."

Ryder's expression remained unyielding. "I'm not shocked by your behaviour, Victoria. I know exactly what kind of woman you are. And as for your apology, it's too little, too late. You're going to have to face the consequences of your actions."

With a swift motion, Ryder pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "I want you to file a defamation case against Victoria. She's caused harm to Anya's reputation and well-being."

Victoria's face paled. " You can't do this to me, Ryder. I thought we had something special." Ryder's gaze turned icy. " You thought wrong, Victoria. I never loved you. And even if I had, what you've done is unforgivable."

Victoria's eyes flashed with anger. " You'll regret this, Ryder. I'll make sure you pay for what you're doing to me." Ryder's expression didn't waver. " I'm not intimidated by your threats, Victoria. You're going to have to face the consequences of your actions."

With that Ryder turned and left, leaving Victoria standing alone, her eyes blazing with anger and humiliation. Ryder's sole focus was on finding Anya, ensuring her safety and well - being.

As he walked away, Ryder's phone buzzed with an incoming call from his manager. "Ryder, I've filed the defamation case against Victoria. We'll take care of this." Ryder nodded, though his manager couldn't see him. " Thanks. Keep me updated." With a scene of satisfaction, Ryder continued his search for Anya.

Ryder's eyes scanned the crowded streets, his mind racing with worry. Where could Anya be? He had been searching for her for over two hours, but every lead seemed to end in a dead end.

He spotted a taxi driver sitting on the sidewalk, sipping a cup of coffee. Ryder approached him, hoping against hope that this might be the break he needed.

" Excuse me," Ryder said, flashing a charming smile. " I'm looking for a woman who might have taken your taxi. She's about 5'8" with long brown hair and green eyes."

The driver's expression changed from boredom to interest. "Yeah, I think I know the one you're talking about. She was crying pretty badly when she got in."

Ryder's gut twisted with concern. "Where did you drop her off?"

The driver rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Let me check my GPS... Ah, yeah! I dropped her off at 5th and Main. But, buddy, she was really upset. I hope she's okay."

Ryder nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. He thanked the driver and set off towards 5th and Main.

Meanwhile, Anya sat in a quiet corner of a library-themed cafe, her eyes fixed on a random bookshelf. Tears streamed down her face as she thought about her parents.

"Why did you have to leave me?" She whispered her voice cracking with emotion. "I miss you so much. If only you were here, no one would dare talk to me like that."

As she sat there, lost in thought, Ryder finally found her. He spotted her slumped over a table, her head resting on her arms. Ryder's heart swelled with relief and concern.
