In the obsidian spires of his palace, Lucifer Morningstar froze mid-flourish. A pen in one hand, an elaborate scroll in the other, his expression shifted from gleeful theatrics to startled disbelief. For the first time in centuries, something pierced through the abyss that separated Hell from Heaven, an undeniable resonance of divine presence. The Morningstar’s radiant, crimson eyes dimmed as he staggered back into his throne, muttering, "He’s here. After all this time, He’s here."
Lucifer's mind swirled with questions and memories long buried. He glanced toward a portrait of his daughter. "What have you done, my dear Charlie? What have you gotten yourself into?" He clenched his fists, his dramatic facade fracturing into visible sorrow. Then, steeling himself, he summoned a council of the Seven Deadly Sins.

In the gilded halls of Mammon's casino, the Sin of Greed sneered as he adjusted his golden crown. "You dragged me out of my vault for this? Some divine echo?"
Beelzebub, the Sin of Gluttony, lounged nearby, stirring a honeyed cocktail. "It’s not just an echo, you dolt," she said, her tone as sweet as her drink. "It’s Him. You felt it, same as the rest of us."
Asmodeus, Sin of Lust, smirked but remained silent, his jeweled fingers tapping rhythmically on the table. Leviathan and Belphegor sat at the far end of the room, their usual disinterest replaced by wary curiosity.
Lucifer entered, his aura commanding the room into silence. "This is no ordinary disturbance," he announced. "God Himself has intervened."
The room erupted into overlapping voices of disbelief, panic, and derision. Mammon laughed. "Oh please, Lucy, you’ve been saying He’s gone forever. What makes this time so different?"
Lucifer’s piercing glare silenced him. "Because this time, I felt it."
Beelzebub raised an eyebrow. "So what? He shows up after eons, helps some sinner or another, and then leaves? We still rule this pit, don't we?"
Lucifer hesitated. "Do we?"
The council’s murmurs grew quieter. For centuries, they had all operated under the assumption that God had abandoned His creation. Now, uncertainty loomed.

Meanwhile, in Heaven, the Seraphim deliberated in a marble amphitheater glowing with celestial light. Adam stood beside Sera, his usual arrogance replaced by a simmering frustration.
"This cannot stand!" Adam bellowed. "His intervention undermines everything we’ve maintained! If the Exterminations falter, chaos will reign."
Sera remained composed, though her hands trembled. "And what would you have us do, Adam? Confront Him? You know we cannot."
"He abandoned us after creation!" Adam snarled. "Why would He return now, and for them of all beings?"
Sera glanced at the council, many of whom exchanged nervous glances. "We do not question Him," she said softly. "But we must prepare for the consequences. If His presence is truly felt among the damned..."
Adam interrupted, his voice dripping with disdain. "If His presence is felt, then we must suppress it. Send exterminators covertly. Whatever this is, it cannot spread."

In Sinister’s cathedral, the echoes of battle had faded, but his soul remained restless. He sat in a pew, contemplating his recent victory and the fleeting glimpse of holy power he had felt. Charlie stood nearby, her eyes wide with wonder.
"You felt it too, didn’t you?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Sinister nodded, his expression grim. "Something is changing, Charlie. Something far beyond us."
Charlie hesitated, then placed a hand on his shoulder. "Do you think... do you think He’s watching us now?"
Sinister didn’t reply immediately. Instead, he stared at the towering cross above the altar, its shadow stretching across the fractured stone floor. "If He is," he finally said, "I don’t know if it’s to judge us, to save us, or to condemn us all."
The chapter ends with a final shift to Lucifer, standing alone on the balcony of his palace, gazing up at the faint, golden light that pierced the eternally crimson sky of Hell. For the first time in millennia, he whispered a prayer.
