The morning light seeped through the curtains, casting a warm, golden glow over the room. The soft rustle of the sheets and the gentle hum of the air were the only sounds as Ayaan slowly opened his eyes. He turned to see Maya beside him, her face peaceful in sleep, her hair scattered across the pillow like a halo. A smile tugged at his lips as he gazed at her, memories of the night before still fresh in his mind.
Last night had been unlike anything he had ever experienced. It had been slow, tender, and full of moments that solidified the love they shared. Maya, so hesitant and nervous at first, had become his, in every way possible, and Ayaan was filled with an overwhelming sense of contentment.
As Maya began to stir, her eyelids fluttered open, and she blinked up at him, her cheeks still flushed from the events of the previous night. The moment she met his gaze, she quickly turned her head, pulling the blanket up over her shoulders, a deep pink hue coloring her face.
Ayaan chuckled softly, his deep voice filling the room with warmth. "You’re shy now, after all that?" he teased, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
Maya shifted uncomfortably under the blanket, her eyes not meeting his. "I… I don’t know what to say," she whispered, still blushing.
Ayaan leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on her cheek. "There’s nothing to say, Maya," he murmured, his lips grazing her skin. "You’ve already said everything with your heart."
Her blush deepened, and she pulled the blanket higher, now nearly hiding her face from him. Ayaan couldn’t help but smile at her adorableness. He had seen every part of her, and yet here she was, shy and coy, making him fall for her all over again.
"Why are you hiding, princess?" he teased, his voice low and playful. He reached over and gently tugged the blanket down from her face. "There’s no need for that. It’s just me."
Maya hesitated but eventually met his gaze. Her lips parted as if she wanted to say something, but no words came out. She felt vulnerable, still processing everything from last night.
"Shy? Really?" Ayaan raised an eyebrow, a playful grin tugging at his lips. "The same Maya who challenged me to come all the way to your village at midnight is now too shy to even look at me?" He winked, clearly enjoying the role reversal.
Maya let out a nervous laugh, her eyes darting away from his. "I… I didn’t think you’d be like this," she admitted, her voice small but sincere. "It’s all so new to me."
Ayaan's expression softened, and he cupped her cheek gently, turning her face back toward him. "It’s new for both of us, Maya," he whispered, his thumb brushing over her lips. "But I’ll always be here to make it easier for you."
Maya smiled shyly at him, still a little unsure but comforted by his presence.
Ayaan, never one to miss an opportunity to tease, leaned closer, his lips brushing against her ear. "Though, if you keep acting like this," he whispered, his voice thick with affection, "I might just make it my personal mission to tease you every single day."
Her eyes widened, and she looked at him in disbelief. "Ayaan!" she exclaimed, her voice a mix of embarrassment and affection. She quickly buried her face in her hands, unable to hide her blush.
Ayaan chuckled deeply, clearly delighted by her reaction. "You’re so easy to tease, Maya. I could do this all day." He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, his tone softening. "But I’ll stop. For now."
Maya peeked at him from behind her hands, her lips curving into a small smile. "You’re impossible," she muttered, though she couldn’t hide the affection in her voice.
