These words still playing back in Karuga's mind in a loop over and over again, even after 2 weeks, since that little trip. Family... Friends... The present day... It's the little things.

He rests his tired head on his hand, secretly looking out of the window of the classroom. Barely paying attention to what the teacher says. But he doesn't even care, it's the most boring part in Teyvat's history, so he can't care any less. He's more entertained by his own thoughts.

These words normaly come from old folks who's days have been numbered, or warriors from movies, who saw many horrible things in life and just clinging to what they have left, in other words, the present day. And the General doesn't seem to be too close to 30. Well, it is true to some level that...he is a warrior. Just not that fantasy syrup coated one. But regardless of the truth behind his strange behaviour, on one hand, Karuga writes this off as a grown-up thing he can't fully understand yet, and on the other hand...he's right. Even he, a little no-name kid in school can clearly see, Sumeru is facing dangerous times. Around 3-4 mounths ago, he saw and heard thrise as many crimes as in the past. From minor bulglaries, to impulse-murders, to mass murder cases. Not to mention this new... ,,Marana" thing. He can still remember, when a few days prior, Cyno, in person, gave a lecture about this...strange mutation, with the strange fox-guy he saw on the picture that Cyno showed to him, who then introduced himself as ,,Forest Watcher Tighnari".

They've spoke about this thing deep into details. What it does to the nature. What it does to the human body, and the mind. Even showed a piece of the crystal, that this thing originates from. Detailed, what they have to look out for, and who should they call, or what they should do, if any of them finds something like this, or comes into contact with one. Karuga wishes that he had teachers like they are. Tighnari was talking about, how this stuff affects the wildlife, and Cyno was talking about it's effects on the human body and mind. And tho normaly he would just fall asleep during class, this time he wasn't. He way paying very close attention that time. Not only becouse it's a very serious matter, but also becouse...the're just very good at captivating people's attention. Tho he would listen to the General regrdless, since he really lookes up to him, he found himself actualy paying attention to the fox-guy's every word.

And yet, here we go again, with the boring class after boring class. Watching throu the window, fantasysing about his future. Like for example, where should he go next? He wanted to enroll to the Vahumana darchan, but also really thought about joining the Matra. Altho...in his oppinion, the latter would be his dream, even tho it's a bit too ambitious, but still his dream.

And as he just daydreams like this, a tiny note slips onto his desk, making slight contact with his arm. He notices is, quickly looking around who sliped it to him.

It was Namur. And the note says:

,,When the bell rings, follow me. Urgent."

His heart is now in his throat, beating rapidly in fear. What is he even thinking? He surely wants to beat him up for getting him and his buddy in trouble 2 weeks prior. No, he can't go after him. This is a trap. He'll get revenge on him in the corner of the school building, and once agan, nobody'll bet an eye on it. But he's also sooo so hungry. Sadly he doesn't have lunch with him, only a few Mora, just enough to buy a snack from the snack machine. But to do that...he needs to actualy go out from the classroom...

Maybe... Just, maybe... If he just waits out Namur to go out from the room, he can sneak out... But it's too risky...

Welp, his stomach decided to betray him, as it started to growl very loudly, and he tries to cover it up by holding it down, and shrink himself onto the surface of the desk. He then just lays his head on the desk in frustration, thinking ,Why... Why this has to happend to me?'
