The Captain began to regain consciousness after being dead for weeks. His limbs felt weak and heavy but a warmth was beginning to flood back into them, slowly giving him back the strength he once possessed. He knew he was coming back to life once the gears I. His brain began to turn yet again.

The strength rebuilt until he had the courage to open his eyes and see the world once again. He slowly sat up and propped himself up on his mechanical elbow as he began to take in the surroundings of what was his tomb.

A light was almost blinding his sensitive eyes as he instinctively moved his arm to cover all of them from the source. Why couldn't he be mysteriously revived in a place that wasn't so bright? But the light wasn't coming from the location of his revival, it was coming from a being in front of him.

*

He retracted his arm as a little creature unknown to him floated in front of his very eyes. He thought to swat at it but felt he didn't have all the strength and heart to do so. The creature observed him for a moment before its voice chimed in his ears canals.

"Oh my...You really are alive!"

He didn't even know how this creature would speak. It didn't even have a face let alone a mouth.

"Forgive me for my lack of introduction. My name is Sol and I'm your Ghost. Do you know if you can speak or not?"

The Captain didn't even know if he could speak, but he tried nonetheless.

"W-What are you?"

His voice came out in a graveled sound. All Fallen had a sort of raspy voice and he was no exception. It had a sort of static to it as it rang through the mind of the Ghost in front of him.

"That's good that you can at least speak. I know I have to fill you in on why you're suddenly alive again, but you'll learn in due time."

"At least answer my question. What are you?"

"I am a Ghost sent by the Traveler to bring you back to life as a Light-barer."

When the word "Traveler" was mentioned, the Captain had a flashback. He remembered all of the other Fallen Houses chasing the Traveler after it had abandoned them in their home planet. It was a rather bitter memory.

"A Light-barer?"

"Yes. You were chosen by the Traveler to wield the light and defend humanity against the evil of the darkness."

"That seems like such a tall order for me just having woken up."

"You will be fine. Right now, we need to get you out of here and out of the Vault entirely."

The Captain made no verbal response as he let the Ghost show him the way out of this tomb. He say the bodies of others that looked like him. They dawned the same blue coating as he did. It made him feel in easy as it was hard to imagine that he was one of these poor creatures.

*

After a while of jumping ledges and climbing a moth stone surfaces, they finally reached the Vault door that had the same hole broke into it. The Captain stepped outside as was treated with the warm air of the planet. He felt the warmth of the sun's rays as it shined upon his outer shell of armor. It felt nice after the still air of the Vault.

"Now that we are out of that stuffy Vault, let's get you to my ship so we can figure out where to go from here."

Sol guided him to a black ship that was sitting dormant on top of the same smooth stone-like material that made up the Vault. The ship as big but he felt like he could remember being in bigger ships with his species. He was transported inside and sat down on a seat he found. It was rather uncomfortable as he was almost too big for the chair.

"So...do you remember your name?"

He thought about it but came to no conclusion.

"No, I do not."

"Well then, I will look through a database of Fallen names to find one that suits you."

The Captain just nodded.

"The database gave me a huge list of names. What about Apysker?"

"I like that."

"Great. So now we figure out where to go. I don't want to take you right to the Tower as that is hostile territory for you but it's where we might have to go. The Vanguard would want to meet you and get you on file."

"You do what you feel is best."

"To the Tower it is. Just know, you won't be welcomed right away. Others will be alerted by a Fallen Captain showing up there."

"If it is where we must go, I can brave the hate."

"As long as you're confident."
