In the depths of Venus's largest Vault, a creature floated through the still and chilly atmosphere of the large and never-ending room. It seemed to occasionally scan the piles of rubble and bodies that littered the technical flooring. The Guardian that came and captured Skolas used the guise of Petra Venj and the Queen of The Awoken left quite the mess. Not just bodies covered the floor, their metallic blood as well. It painted the floor like an art piece. But amongst all the former chaos and ruin that tainted the platform, the creature was looking for something...better yet someone.

The creature was a Ghost, an item made from the Traveler itself to guide the Light-barers and Champions of the Traveller. All Ghosts when created must find the body of their Guardian and resurrect them, giving them the power of life once again mixed with the power of the Light.
In some cases, it took the Ghost a long time to find the body they felt they had to resurrect. They could only know where it was through a signal in the general location and a warm feeling when they got near the body
This Ghost who went by the name of Sol was one of the few cases of a Ghost not finding their Guardian. He looked and scoured through most of the galaxy to find this person. He was created when the person died and with the signal he was given, why couldn't he find his guardian?
He looked day and night much to the dismay and disapproval of the Vanguard. They cared about him and knew well of his struggle to find his Guardian. He felt that if he didn't have a Guardian, he was worthless as after all, he was made to guide a Light-barer. The Vanguard did all they could to try and cheer him up and keep him looking all the time by trying to call him back whenever they felt he was gone for too long, but that never worked. Even the favorite Hunter Vanguard couldn't cheer him up.
None of the other Ghosts really talked to him or tried to help him. A few Guardians used to search with him but they eventually gave up due to finding nothing. Now the Ghosts and Guardians would poke fun at him about his situation which would be quickly shut down by the Vanguard. It wasn't right to bully him like that and they all knew it, they just didn't care.
One faithful day, the signal came. It sounded like a loud explosion in his shell. He knew the feeling as other Ghosts had described it to him at one point in time. It was the signal from the Traveler. Perhaps the being had seen his struggle and decided to make his life easier. He wasted no time taking the ship he claimed as his own and heading towards the planet where his destiny was about to begin.

The planet was Venus. More specifically, The Vault of Glass. He landed the ship on a flat surface outside and hovered his way out. He floated onto get a good view of the Vault. Its stone walls shined brightly in the sun's rays along with the vex-colored metal that made up the door itself. The area was swamped with overgrowth and other plants life that lived on this warm planet.
He floated up to the door and made his entrance through a hole that was broken into the Vault door. He illuminated the tunnel into the Vault as he made his way through the overgrowth that crawled up the walls and all of the old Vex-tech and building materials. This place was dead silent. There wasn't any Vex seen in the rooms he traveled.
The place also felt different after the House of Wolves tried to make a stronghold here. The House had forced their way in here, wanting to run and hide from the persecution of the Awoken Queen and her Wrath. They didn't take the main route used when a group of Guardians defeated the Templar and wasn't through another door. He took a stray path, one a Guardian used when tracking down Skolas and his troops.
Which lead to where he was now.

After about 20 minutes or so of scanning the bodies and picking through the rubble, he felt a warm feeling when he approached another pile of bodies. This had to have been the feeling that other Ghosts have described to him. It was a welcome feeling of fulfillment and relief after this endless searching that filled up most of his days. He quickly sifted his way through the pile and expected to be met with a human-like body, but there wasn't one.
All that was left was the body of a Fallen Captain.
It felt like the Traveler was playing a joke on him. After all this searching and pain, a Fallen Captain was meant to be a Light-barer and his Guardian? But alas, he knew better than to question the same being that gave him life and purpose in the first place. He scanned the body and every fiber in his shell knew that this was it.
He worked up the courage to resurrect the body and that he did. It was a slow process so it was better he start now. He disappeared into the Captain's body and started jumpstarting the organs encapsulated in the body.
If this is what the Traveler had planned for him, he'd follow with no questions asked...
But this was seriously going to piss off the Vanguard.
