Chapter 14: Ex-wife

Since the captain had spoken like this, several veteran members of the criminal police team naturally responded humbly. The superiors highly affirmed and evaluated Zhong Han's work ability and past achievements. If everyone did not have a clear attitude at this time, it would appear that they were not humble enough and their work attitude was not positive enough.

"I've also heard your analysis just now. I think Zhong Han's considerations are quite comprehensive and worth referring to." Captain Yang Cheng made a brief evaluation. "You are Leng Hui, right?" Gu Xiaofan asked tentatively.

The older woman nodded, took two steps forward, and took her daughter with her. She said to Gu Xiaofan, "I'm Leng Hui, Ren Xuefeng is my ex-husband, and this is our daughter, Ren Yumeng."

"Hello, my surname is Gu, my name is Gu Xiaofan, and I am one of the criminal police officers in charge of Ren Xuefeng's case. Please follow me in!" Gu Xiaofan smiled at Leng Hui and her daughter. Ren Xuefeng's daughter Ren Yumeng always had a cold face and ignored her, but Gu Xiaofan didn't care and welcomed the mother and daughter into the office.

The captain came over for an inspection and then left. Gao Xuan and Tang Hongye were not directly involved in the investigation of Ren Xuefeng's case, so when they saw that important family members of the victim had come to their side, they packed up their things and chose to avoid them. Tang Li also hid away with some other excuses to avoid dealing with the victim's family members. "Let me introduce him to you. This is Zhong Han, the person in charge of this case." Gu Xiaofan introduced Leng Hui and her daughter to Zhong Han.

Leng Hui smiled at Zhong Han, but her smile was a little bitter. Ren Yumeng did not smile at all. She looked at Gu Xiaofan, then at Zhong Han, and asked, "Who will be responsible for collecting samples for me?"

Gu Xiaofan thought about it and decided that since it was just a matter of extracting samples, there wouldn't be any overly exciting scenes, so he asked Ren Yumeng to go with him to the forensic department and left Leng Hui to Zhong Han.
