Jaylin's POV
I woke up in the morning to the sound of roosters. It took me a minute to remember where I was. I was in the arms of my big sister, Rachel. I layed there for a minute when I heard Gwen talking to Tim.
I rolled over and tried to get out of Rachel's arms. I succeeded and crawled out of the fort. I looked down and realized that I was still in my Eeyore onesie.
I walked into the kitchen and saw Gwen and Tim sitting at the table drinking coffee. Good morning sunshine. How did you sleep?" Gwen said. "Fine." I replied with a smile.
"Do you remember anything that happened after you fell asleep last night, Pumpkin?" Tim asked. I shook my head confusedly. "Well, do you want me to start some breakfast?" Gwen asked me after a few seconds of silence. "Sure!" I said in a cheerful tone. "Okay then why don't you try to wake your sisters up. And I'll start breakfast." Gwen said as I got up and jogged to the living room.
I crawled into the fort and started waking Colleen and Rachel up. Rachel was the first to wake up. Rachel looked around confused then saw me and I think she realized where she was. Without saying a word she got up and left the fort.
I layed down next to Colleen and snuggled into her arms. She woke up when she realized what was happening. She smiled at me and kissed my forehead as she got up and left the fort as well.
I walked into the kitchen and saw Rachel in there drinking coffee. It looked like her and Gwen were talking about something. Rachel took a sip of her coffee and put the cup down. She kissed the top of my head as she walked to the bathroom.
"Colleen, hurry up. I have to pee!" Rachel yelled to the bathroom door. Tim grabbed me and sat me down on his knee. "Jaylin, do you like chocolate chip pancakes?" Gwen asked. "Yeah!" I said excitedly. "And scrambled eggs?" She added. I nodded my head.
Just then Coleen came into the kitchen. She got a carton of orange juice from the fridge and poured me a cup. She set the cup down in front of me and walked to her chair. "Thank you," I said as I smiled and took the cup in my hands. She smiled at me as I took a drink from my cup.
Rachel came into the kitchen and sat down in the chair next to me and Tim. "So what do we have planned for today?" Tim asked. "I was kinda thinking about taking Colleen, Rachel, and Jaylin out for a mommy daughter day." Gwen said as she set a plate of chocolate chip pancakes down on the table.
"I'm okay with that as long as the girls are. Maybe I can go over to Christopher's for the day." Tim said as he served Colleen, Rachel, and I pancakes. "I'm okay with that. I don't have really any work to do. I got most of it done over the weekend." Colleen said. "I'm okay with it too." Rachel said as she put syrup on her pancakes. "Jaylin?" Gwen asked I'm okay with it too." I said as I reached for the syrup.
Gwen smiled at me and continued stirring the eggs. Gwen put the eggs on the table and sat down. Colleen got up an got the whipped cream out of the fridge.
"Jay, do you want some?" She said as she walked over to the table. I nodded my head and sat there on Tim's knee while Colleen put whipped cream on my pancakes. "Oh, thank you very much." I said as Colleen walked back to her chair. Tim chuckled and kissed me on the head.
Gwen dished me eggs and I sat there quietly eating, listening to everyone's conversation. I finished my breakfast and sat there sipping the rest of my orange juice. When everyone was done eating, Gwen put everyone's plates in the sink. "Jaylin, follow us." Colleen said as she walked with Rachel down the hallway to a bedroom.
Colleen opened the closet and dug around for a minute. She came out with a pink birthday bag that said 'Jaylin' on it. She handed me the bag as Rachel sat me down on the bed. I opened it and saw clothes. "I picked the outfit out the day I knew you were the kid we were going to adopt." Colleen said as she sat down on the bed next to me. There was a tank top that had cats and cookies all over it and a pair of black leggings. I hugged Colleen and Rachel. "That's not all." Rachel said as she got up and left the room.
She returned with a shoe box. She placed it on my lap and sat back down. I opened the box and saw a pair of white and pink high tops. "Josh helped me pick them out." Rachel said. "Thanks you guys. I love everything." I said as I hugged them again. "Mom and dad also bought you the normal stuff like underwear and socks but I figured that you wouldn't like to open them." Colleen said as she handed me the underwear and socks. I smiled and looked at everything. "Before we leave I want you to take a shower." Colleen said to me. I nodded my head as Colleen lead me to the bathroom. She told me which shampoo to use and to holler for her when I was done. Rachel brought my clothes in the bathroom and left. Colleen started the shower and left the bathroom and left the door open a crack.
I showered and got out of the shower and wrapped the big towel around myself. I called for Colleen, like she told me to do, and waited. Colleen came into the bathroom and told me to get dried off and get dresses then come out to the living room. Colleen left the bathroom and I got dressed in the tank top and leggings. I towel dried my hair and walked out to the living room. Colleen and Rachel were talking, while Tim was watching a baseball game on the television. Colleen patted the couch between Rachel and her. I sat on down and listened to Rachel's story she was telling.
"I'm going to go shower." Rachel said as she got up. "Jaylin, before Rachel gets in the shower, I want you to get the hairbrush and a hair tie from the bathroom." Colleen said. I nodded and went down the hall to the bathroom. I knocked on the bathroom door and waited. When Rachel opened the door, I asked her if she could get me a hair tie and the hairbrush. She nodded and handed me the hair tie and the hairbrush. I thanked her and walked back to the living room. I handed the stuff to Colleen. "Can I do your hair?" She asked. I nodded my head and sat down on the floor in front of Colleen. Colleen started French braiding my hair down the back.
A little while after Colleen finished my hair, Rachel came out of my bathroom and sat down next to me. Colleen got up to take her shower after Rachel got out. Rachel and I just hung out while Colleen was in the shower. Colleen got out of the shower and walked into the bathroom to do her hair. Rachel followed so I followed as well. I sat on the stool in the corner of the bathroom while I watched Colleen and Rachel do their hair and makeup. It took them a REALLY long time to finish everything. But after they did, Gwen had finished her shower and was ready to go out. I walked with Rachel to the bedroom to put on my shoes. Colleen was the only one we were waiting for. Gwen, Rachel and I were standing by the door. Tim had already left. Finally Colleen was ready to go. We walked to the car and got in. Rachel and I were in the back seat and Colleen was driving. Gwen was in the passenger seat. We drove out of the driveway and started driving down the street.
"Where are we going?" Rachel asked. "I don't know, Where do you want to go?" Gwen asked. "I wanted to go to the mall or something to look at a few things for Jaylin ." Rachel said. "I was thinking that too." Colleen replied as she drove. "Okay, then we go to the mall. Is that alright Jaylin?" Gwen asked. I nodded my head. Rachel held my hand and talked to me the whole way there. As we got to the mall, I followed Colleen because Rachel and Gwen had to go do secret stuff that they wouldn't tell me about.
Colleen and I were just walking around looking at things to buy when a group of about 5 screaming girls came running up to me and Colleen. It scared me a little so I just hid behind Colleen. Rachel and Gwen showed up shortly after the screaming girls showed up. Rachel took the girls aside and started talking to them. I couldn't hear what Rachel was saying, but the girls left after she was done talking to them. Rachel came back and looked at Colleen. Colleen nodded at Rachel and then whispered something to Gwen. "Come here, honey." Colleen said as she walked to a bench that was close by. I sat down between Rachel and Colleen. "Please don't be freaked out by this," Rachel said. My stomach suddenly got butterflies in it. I took a deep breath and listened.
