39 ~ Quinceañera Part 2

*GEOFFREY'S POV*

Finally around ten, the dancing started. I Could Fall In Love by Selena made many couples walk to the dance floor. At this point, the lights were completely off with the exception of the kitchen being cleaned up by the hired workers and the colorful lights brought by the DJ.

A tap on my shoulder startled me, making me come back to reality, away from my thoughts, "Geoffrey, wanna dance?" Jackie gave me puppy eyes as if I were willing to turn her down.

"Of course, I'd love to," Before I knew it, my hand enveloped hers and we were swaying to the last verse of Selena's song. That song faded but another one started. The same voice sang to a different rhythm with different lyrics.

" Uno! Dos! Tres! Cuatro!
Que humareda que nos tiene ahogando
La gente se pregunta, nadie sabe qué es
Un carro viejo que viene pitando

This song brought so many good memories to me so I was more than happy to share this dance with Jackie.

"Damn Geoffrey, never knew you had those moves in you!" Jackie exclaimed when she saw I could dance cumbias.

"What'd you think?" I replied shocked but with a laugh.

"I thought you only knew how to dance bachata!"

"You know who taught me how to dance cumbia? Your sister, Alex. It was at her quince with this exact song when I danced cumbia for the very first time in my life."

"Wow! That's crazy," Her feet kept up with mine and never once did she step on my feet or vice versa.

"Speaking of Alex, where is she?"

"God knows where she is," I sensed a little annoyance in her voice but ignored it, "she's alright, I hope."

It wasn't until the next song, Te Quiero A Ti by the Kumbia Kings started when I saw Alex dancing with some guy. His back was turned to me but I could still tell the guy was Jacob. Alex had a smile and soon started laughing. I wondered what she could be laughing about. She was in the arms of the guy who ruined her on so many levels. Jackie kept talking but I would zone out. Finally, the song ended and I turned to Jackie with a smile.

"Listen Geoffrey, I had fun but I have to go dance with everyone else," She sighed and looked down, "but, maybe we can dance some more later?"

"Definitely," I replied with a smile. She gave me one last hug before getting lost into the crowd. I turned back towards Alex and saw her part ways from Jacob. From the looks of it, he would bring back Alex a drink. Quickly, I rushed to her side.

"Lets dance," She looked surprised but didn't protest. We were dancing to Beso by Aventura.

"Geoffrey, what the fuck? I mean, thanks for taking me out to dance but you didn't even let me answer you."

"That's because I wasn't asking you to dance. Besides, I wanted to talk."

"About?"

"Well, it looked like you and Jacob were the best of friends."

"Oh, so now you're stalking me?"

"Okay, maybe yeah but anyways, what happened?"

"A ti que te importa Geoffrey! That's my damn business! I never ask you what's going on with you and your girlfriend so fuck off!" She gave me a disgusted look and turned away but never let me go. We kept dancing like nothing was happening.

"I don't have a girlfriend anymore AND you know what goes on in my life anyway so what's the point of me elaborating even further into my life? I don't see it so why don't you start telling me what went down between you two."

I felt her lightly kiss my jawline, "Mi rey, mi rey, mi rey," She laughed, "nothing went down between us. I just decided to stop holding a grudge because I don't see the point. Of course I won't forget what he did to me I just won't stress over it so much."

"I guess that's okay. Just be careful no?"

"Definitely," The song ended, "now if you'll excuse me, I have business to take care of," She walked over to the tables and I saw Jacob with some drinks. I sat a few tables away from them not taking my eyes off of them. They kept conversing. Headlines by Drake came on and they walked over to the dance floor. Alex started grinding all over Jacob and of course he didn't decline her. The song ended and they came back to their table.

"Hey Geoffrey!" A voice called behind me. Junior made his way to the chair next to me.

"Hey Junior," I gave him a smile, "haven't seen you in a minute. How are you enjoying the party?"

"It's good. Having fun, how about you?"

"Me too. Its been pretty good," I chuckled. He looked around and spotted Jacob and Alex.

"Hey, is that Jacob from high school?" His expression turned to surprised and a little annoyed.

"Yeah," I nodded and turned to look at him.

"Geez, what in the hell is Alex doing talking to him. Last time I checked, she was willing to rip his head off and feed his body to some dogs then give his head to his mom."

I laughed at the scenerio Junior said but I knew it was somehow true, "She said she was tired of holding a grudge towards him so I don't know."

"That didn't necessarily mean to become best friends with him, you know? But it's whatever, I hope she knows what she's doing. If Jacob tries anything, I swear he'll regret it," Junior shook his head and turned back to me, "anyway, you want a beer or something?"

"A beer sounds good," I smiled and saw Junior disappear into the crowd. Jacob and Alex were no longer at the table when I looked back.

Hey u lil nuggets i miss doing these dumb author's notes. Well I kinda feel like this update sucked but chu know, school is getting closer and i feel like my schedule will be packed this year for multiple reasons :'( so im trying to speed this up to the good parts before school starts. I have an idea of TREC which i might update tonight but more than likely tomorrow idk.
