There will come a time, much later in the future, when you might look back and feel a twinge of guilt about the harsh words you once said to your parents. But the truth is, they needed to hear those words. They had crossed a line, and after enduring so much—hearing worse from them—you finally reached a point where you couldn't just take it in anymore.
Sometimes, the burden of always being the one to hold back becomes too much, and the temptation to speak your mind takes over. In that moment, it wasn't about malice or anger; it was about care. Those words, however harsh they may have sounded, came from a place of wanting better for them, a desperate attempt to cut through the exhausting cycle of dealing with their narrow-mindedness.
So, when the guilt creeps in later, remember this: you spoke out because you cared, even if it didn't change anything. And that, in itself, is nothing to regret.
