Damn, I had to drag myself all the way up because of those stupid instructions being grouped together. I didn't really want to leave my seat. Well, I had a few people sitting near me in my previous spot, but they weren't all that great anyway. So yeah, I rolled my eyes and got up. It felt a little odd to move to the completely opposite side of the auditorium. I could sense plenty of eyes on me as I walked.
I slipped into a row and sat down. I accidentally made eye contact with the person next to me. She said, "Hey," with a small smile on her face. Of course, I said "Hey" back.
There were a few moments of awkward silence at first, but we eventually started talking. I'm not entirely sure who began the conversation—well, who cares?! She was fun, didn't ask annoying or unnecessary questions. To my surprise, we had a lot to talk about. Even topics like picking the wrong seats turned out to be amusing.
Luckily, we never hit any awkward silences. The next day, my eyes naturally drifted toward the seat next to hers.
Maybe I made a friend?
