??? POV:

"Why did you drag me out into the forest at three in the freaking morning." I shot at her, annoyance covering my voice.

" Oh,Shut up!" She said taking out a couple of leaves stuck in her hair.

"Okay! Just because the queen isn't here doesn't mean you get to order me around" I yanked at my skirt stuck in a bush.

"Madhumathi would you please keep quiet and besides I can order you around even when the queen is around because I'm the Shesh naagin and you are one of the dhash naagarakshak."

"I'm a Dhash naagarakshak not a dhaas(Hindi for servant)"

"I'm not implying that you are, but I have full right to seek your service if it's a matter of the Naagvanch"
She said moving deeper into the forest.

"What matters of the Naagvanch are you talking about?"
As far as I have heard there have been no disturbances in our kingdom for almost the past 18 years, so what could she be talking about now?"

"I'm talking about the Maha Nagrani's last words"

"She said that the throne would be restored before 18 years complete, right?"

"Yes. And there are only eight days left for it"

"I still don't understand why we are in the middle of the forest Shesha"

She suddenly stopped walking and turned around to face me. She took my hand and took two more steps and then moved away the huge leaves that were blocking the view of the front.

Oh my god! I can't believe it. We were at the sacred Nagmani Mandir ( Nagmani- Serpent Gem, Mandir- Temple ) I'd never been here before.

We walked to the front of the temple, the doors had a carving of four snakes intertwined with each other. Last one from the left was wearing a matha patti( an Indian headpiece/ jewellery), and the last one from the right was wearing a diadem with a small trishul ( trident ) symbol , with a gem in the middle. The left centre one seemed to be comparatively bigger than the other two but slightly smaller than the right centre one and wore a magnificent diadem with the symbol of a snake. The right centre one was the biggest of them all with a beautiful crown that seemed to even emit a slight glow even though it was a stone carving.

I recognised two of those snakes the last one from the right was the Shivaani our Queen our Nag Rani.
The last one from the left was standing right in front of me. It was Shesha when she transformed into her naagin form which she was in right now that I'd seen the matha patti on her head.
Only she wore matha patti ,when she transformed into her naagin form, she would also be dressed in a wine coloured nauvari dress ( nauvari dress is a special way for women to wear their sarees to be able to walk freely like a man without having to dress like one, this only applies to the bottom half of her dress ) with a long train of the fabric.

Nagins like me only wore a maang tikka on our head when we transformed ( Maan tikka is worn only on the centre and does not cover the forehead unlike maatha patti ). I was dressed in a dark red nauravi dress with a comparatively shorter train that reached my ankle and did not touch the floor.

The doors opened and Shesha walked in with her usual dominating aura.
The temple was huge but not as big as the Shiv Mandir we reside in.

At the centre of the temple was a shivaling and in front of it was placed the world's most pure source of energy, the Nagmani. The source of life for all of nature's creations.

Shesha pulled me by my hand inside and led me to the side of both these nagins who I now recognised to be Sierra and Sienna, The two Manni Rakshak ( protectors of the sacred serpent Gem ).

She sat down on her knees and I did the same and then touched the gem slightly with her fingers merely brushing across it slightly and I saw it suddenly changed it's golden light to a more pearly shean and I didn't need to ask Shesha to know what it meant.

It meant that-
Our Queen has finally returned...
