1 John 4:18: "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love"
Him and Gemini have been dating for months now. And in those months, Gemini has been truly amazing. He has been so patient with him. He never pressures him to do anything. If anything, Gemini has encouraged him to figure out everything. From his sexuality and to his spirituality.
Him and Gemini would talk about everything and anything. Even if Gemini was an atheist or a heathen as he would jokingly call himself, he would always be willing to discuss things pertaining to Fourth's spiritual beliefs. Always willing to give his insight and listen to Fourth's rants and questions.
"Remember I told you that love isn't without conditions, it doesn't make it less true. Remember the story of Abraham and Isaac?" Gemini had said when Fourth brought up the topic.
"Yeah, what about it?" Fourth had asked.
"Do you think that Abraham didn't love Isaac?" Gemini had asked in response.
"Of course he did. He was his father." Fourth had replied.
"And yet Abraham had taken Isaac to Mount Moriah to sacrifice him, I.e kill him because God had commanded him to." Gemini had said.
"Okay, but the story of Abraham and Isaac is an example of faith and obedience in the Bible. It also shows how Abraham and Isaac learned about God's plan to sacrifice his son, Jesus Christ." Fourth had argued.
"True as that may be. It also significies that Abraham's obedience to God was much greater than his love for his son." Gemini had said.
"That's not what the story was about, and you know it." Fourth had said, and Gemini had shrugged.
"Even so. Isaac was oblivious to the whole sacrifice thing. Jesus was not. In fact, Jesus had given his consent. He knew of his death from the beginning. I remember there was a part where Jesus had prayed to God and asked for the cup of suffering before him to be removed if possible." Gemini had said.
"I feel like you are twisting the scripture." Fourth had said.
"I am not. I am just quoting it the same as it is written." Gemini had said with a shit eating grin.
"It's not how it's interpreted." Fourth had argued.
"And who is to say how it should be interpreted?" Gemini had asked.
"I am not doing this with you. What is your point?" Fourth had said before the conversation escalated, making Gemini laugh.
Fourth suppressed a smile threatening to bloom.
"What I am trying to say is that Abraham did love his son, but his obedience to God was greater. The scripture does say that You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This means that Abraham loved God more than he loved his son. And there's nothing wrong with that." Gemini had said, "so if our parents are not accepting of our sexualities, not accepting us for who we are doesn't mean they don't love us. It's just means they love an invisible God more than they love us."
"Are you saying that if my father disowns me, calls me an abomination when I tell him that I love a boy, then he would be justified in his actions because he loves God more than me?" Fourth had asked.
"First of all. I am a man, you should know by now there's nothing boyish about me." Gemini had said prompting Fourth to roll his eyes fondly at him. "Second of all, that is not what I am saying. If your father berates you and disowns you for being gay that makes him an asshole."
