love

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." (1 Corinthians 13:4–7)

Fourth is a sinner and not because he was in love with a boy. He was a sinner because he was continuously lying to himself, lying to Gemini and lying to God. He was lying by denying his own feelings. By refusing to acknowledge the love he had for Gemini. He was undeniably, irrevocably and devastatingly in love with Gemini. He loved Gemini so much it broke his heart.

He thinks he knows what love is. His entire life he has been preached to about the overwhelming, never-ending and reckless love of God. The type of love that chases you down, fights till you are found and leaves the ninety-nine. The type of love that Fourth has been told on multiple occasions that he couldn't earn it, that he didn't deserve it but still God gave it to him anyway.

The type of love where God gave his one and only begotten son so that whomever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

The type of love that had Jesus healing the sick, feeding multitudes, forgiving sins, washing disciplines feet and had him dying on the cross. Unconditional, divine and selfless love. The type of love that the Greek called Agape.

Love

Love is not easy.

Love is others-focused, love looks to build others up, even at the sacrifice of one self. Love is not a matter of how you simply feel but what you do.

The scripture has always said that love should be the goal as a a follower of christ, as a Christian. That no matter what you do if you do not love then it is all for naught. It is echoed in several more scriptures that if you do not love then you don't know God because God is love.

But love is not easy.

He knows that love is and always has been a complex concept. Is it an emotion, a state of being, a choice, an ability, a gift, a force, and above all it simply is. He knows that love resists and that love embraces.

He also knows what love isn't. He knows that love is not envious, it is not boastful, it is not arrogant, it isn't angry, it is not rude, it is not selfish, and he knows that love is not resentful and that love is without fear.

Love.

Love is so much more than that.

Love is patient, love is kind, it is truthful, it is resilient, it is faithful, it is hopeful, it is persistent, love is honorable, it endures all things and love never fails.

And to Fourth Gemini encapsulates everything that is love.

Gemini was so kind, so so kind and not only to Fourth but to others as well. He was willing to help, always willing to speak up and take a stand and do what's right. Willing to make waves even if he could be seen as an outcast. He didn't care about being liked as long as he did what he believed was right.

Gemini was patient, always willing to wait and bear it all. He had the ability to wait, and continue doing something despite difficulties, willing to suffer without complaining or becoming annoyed.

Gemini was truthful. He was always saying what's true and not lying, omitting details, or deceiving others. Even when Fourth so desperately wanted to be lied to. He always presented himself in away that was genuine and sincere without any pretense and most importantly and infuriatingly he always took responsibility for his feelings and actions.
