kirishima groaned as he shifted over on his bed. the frame of his bed screaming with a creak from the large man's weight moving. the wailing from his alarm was making him want to pull out his hair. his large hand went to smack the button of the alarm to make the screaming stop so he could sleep for another few minutes, but his laziness ended in him accidentally smashing the whole thing instead.

for the third time this month.

even though the annoying clock was broken to brittle, it still screamed. reluctantly, the tall man lazily climbed out of bed. grabbing ahold of the clock and throwing it in the bin in the corner of his room. walking into the kitchen, he stared down at the coffee machine in front of him. no, he's not making coffee today. he doesn't want to hear the loud screaming coming from the grinder, and he doesn't want to listen to the aching noises that come from the machine as the coffee is brewing.

kirishima quickly sent a text to his business partner and best friend to let him know that he's getting them coffee before meeting him at work for patrol. plus, kirishima knew that katsuki was going to get his own coffee in the morning anyway. so in his mind he was doing a favor for his partner, not one for himself.

everything this morning was going wrong for the poor red-haired man. it all started when the drunk man decided to stay up late the night before. watching a movie marathon, knowing full well he had early patrol with kats the next day. then he smashed his alarm clock; he also realized his black roots were starting to grow in as he brushed his teeth. that was followed by the man finding his small, orange-haired cat was sleeping in the basket of his freshly washed clothes, and not wanting to bother the small animal sleeping, he had to wear his red workout shorts instead of real pants with his hoodie in the cold winter air.

today wasn't going to be his day, and it just started.

eijirou walked through the city with a pained expression on his face. with his bag slung over his shoulder, the early morning air was freezing, and all he wanted was to go back to sleep in his bed. eijirou didn't like the attitude he woke up with in his king-size bed. he didn't like that he almost always woke up with the attitude.

eijirou would never show that he felt upset. the man believed a part of his hero work was being a person you can turn to that has a smile for you when you're upset. but luckily for him almost no one recognized him out of his hero attire. his hero suit was nothing like his day-to-day attire.

the suit was flashy and bulky. with its baggy pant legs. and the shoulder and arm cuffs he wore with his lack of a shirt, making it his open chest and back to help make his quirk work easier. the mask on his face that seemed to show off his features kind of masked what they'd look like in real life. along with his hair that he spiked up when working, all masked when he looked like in real life.

even if he was spotted in real life, it was a slim chance. the man spending his free time in his apartment. the man didn't have a lot of friends other than katuski, and the blonde man spending almost every second of every day with him made it so he didn't really want to hang out with him on their time off. along with kami and sero working in totally different parts of japan, he never really got out unless it was on the way to or home from work.

and his attire was either baggy jeans or sweats and the occasional pair of gym shorts, and that was paired with a t-shirt normally with a hoodie thrown over it. he mainly wore the same things because it's the only thing that fits his large frame comfortably. and the color of the clothing was almost always black or red. then all that, paired with his hood up, bulky black headphones, and red hair down, he was almost unrecognizable.

seeming only children ever really noticed who he was. their parents just simply brushing them off as they pointed at the tall man, claiming he was red riot. kirishima simply removed his somber expression and smiled at the kids, flashing the sharp smile that he's known for, before walking on his way.

but today was different because kirishima's bad day seemed to have gotten worse as he walked. flashing lights coming from a reporter that seemed to recognize him. the man asking him questions, and kirishima had the excuse of not hearing him by pointing at the headphones and saying, "mis by alex g," hoping that would drown away the man's question. he could hear through his very unsoundproof headphones, and he continued to walk. him quickly turning a few times down a few alleys before entering into a small coffee shop. the annoying flashing lights giving the already slightly hungover man a migraine. all he needed now was a coffee.

walking into the random shop, it smelled of burnt coffee in the best way. the man could feel his headache lessening just by inhaling. krishima pushed his headphones past his ears, bringing the band to the front of his hairline, pushing up the ends of his hair that covered his eyes.

looked ahead of him, a small man was ordering. he was seemingly belittling the barista as he ordered. he muttered something about the price and how it's never been that much for the years he's been coming to the cafe.

kirishima didn't mean to, but he lightly studied the girl taking the order. she seemed stressed; the shop had a few people in it, and there seemingly weren't any other workers. she was about his age, and she was tall. she had to at least be the height of denki, if not taller. she was way taller than the old man in front of her, almost by a whole head. she had a small, mixed smile on her lips as she took the order. it seeming like she wanted to seem cheery but wasn't. kirishima knew that she was going insane from the small man's angry tone.

the man huffed as he walked away from the counter. the woman lightly rocking her head to the side as she was writing on the cup.

as kirishima walked closer, he noticed what she was wearing. from what he could see, she had a white long sleeve on; along with it, she had a black headband that held her blonde hair back. that matched the apron that was tied around her frame.

she stood mumbling about how she's never seen the older man in her inner life. after he claimed he came to the shop all the time.

"what can i?" with a sigh, the blonde began to talk. the girl cut herself off as she looked ahead of her. her head slowly turning up to meet the red-haired man's eyes. kirishima noticed the tint on her cheeks, but he didn't think much of it. "what can i get for you?"

"just two black coffees." kirishima smiled lightly at her. the blonde nodded at him slightly with wide eyes, her typing it into her register in front of her.

"anything else." her voice was less than it was when she first began to talk. she looked at him; her eyes told all her emotions he noticed. kirishima shook his head with a no. "okay, uh, 8.50."

after paying, the red-haired man slipped his crummy headphones back over his ears. lighting to the cracky version of alex g's voice. the man looked out the shop's window before he was snapped from thought as his song faded; he heard commotion from beside him.

as he slipped his headphones off his head, sound filled his ears; he heard yelling from in front of him. kirishima's eyes slightly squinted as he looked towards the yelling. a small, chubby man stood.

everyone in the coffee shop was silent. the other pink-haired barista that seemingly just showed up and the customer that she was helping. and the cute old couple that sat in the corner of the store.

"i asked for two creams and 4 sugars, and you gave me this shit! a black coffee!" kirishima stood, gawking at the man's anger. the barista seemed to be overwhelmed, her eyes lightly welling up with tears.

"sir, that's not yours. i'm still making yours," the kind barista shuddered.

"how stupid can you be to mess up a coffee! are you stupid?" the man asked, widening his arms back behind him to show his anger like it wasn't obvious. kirishima grumbled to himself. the audacity of the man made his blood boil. he opened his mouth to say something to the man, but his words were beat.

"no, no, that's just not your order," the barista stammered.

"well then why'd you give me this drink, you dumb bitch?" the man screamed, drawing his arm back lightly. kirishima saw it happen in slow motion in front of his eyes. enough he began to walk forward towards the situation. but before he could intervene, the hot coffee was thrown against the girl's frame. the girl screeched slightly as the hot liquid was splashed against her frame. tears were running down her cheeks at this point.

a gasp was heard from the other worker as she ran, grabbing the cold towel from the sink to place on the girl's arms. the coffee wasn't hot enough to do any serious damage, but it nonetheless hurt.

"get out." kirishima caught himself talking. the older man didn't seem to know the tall man was in the store. the small man looked up at him.

"but my coffee," he stammered. but kirishima rolled his eyes at the man. "does it look like i give a shit about your coffee? i said get the fuck out." the man stood looking at him like a deer in headlights. "do i need to drag you?"

hearing that the small man quickly ran out the door without turning to look back. kirishima turned, hearing the other barista talking to the girl.

"do you have a spare shirt? i stay till close tonight." the blonde girl lightly mumbled, and her coworker shook her head lightly before they both returned to doing their work.

"are you okay, miss?" he asked, walking closer to the counter. the girl stood looking down at her arms, tears streaming down her cheeks as she looked at her ruined shirt. once hearing his voice, she wiped her eyes, looking up at him with a smile, her trying to hide her tears.

"i'm fine! thank you, um, i'm sorry about your drink; i'll remake that right now for you." she quickly rambled on.

"hey, calm down. you don't have any reason to be saying sorry to me right now." kirishima looked at the woman; the tears were still burning in her eyes even though she had tried to wipe the tears clean with her sleeves. she mumbled a little 'sorry' again, her lightly rambling about how he was right.

she lightly shivered in her doused top as she remade his drink. kirishima looked at her white top, the whole thing stained with black coffee.

kirishima shrugged off his black hoodie and laced it over his arm. waiting for her to hand him his drink. she turned back at him as he held the hoodie out to the girl. her eyes looked at his hands lightly before they widened. she shook her head.

"oh no, i can't." she lightly mumbled. kirishima shook his head at her. "your shirt is soaking wet and stained, and it's 20 degrees outside (about -6 c)." kirishima looked at her. she opened her mouth to reject his offer again. "like you said, it's 20 degrees outside, and that will leave you in shorts and a t-shirt."

"i'll be fine, miss," kirishima paused. "if it makes you feel better, i'll be back here this time next week when it's my turn to get coffee again. you can give it back then." the blonde reluctantly grabbed the hoodie. looking up at the man with a small smile.

"thank you again for everything," she muttered, holding the hoodie in her hands as she looked at him. "see you next week, miss." kirishima nodded lightly before he turned and walked out of the store.
