After the things he has said tonight I don’t think I will be able to keep my mind in check. As I walked out of the dorm hand in hand with Quinn, I felt the tension between the two of us. I knew he knew I was lying earlier. And though I was indeed hiding a past lover in the bathroom, but there are no excuses, he (past lover) found me. not like I wanted him back into my life, good gracious no. He’s too much of a hassle to bring back into my life. Who am I kidding? I have a feeling he’ll find me again. He always does, I don’t know why I bother trying to ‘hide’ from him, not like it’s working. Hasn’t for the past year, he always finds me, always knows where I am, even if I switch my number he’ll still call it, change my hair, face, he knows me. Like I’m the only book in the world open enough for him to read. See past me like a ghost or a hunter looking for its camouflaged prey. He is not in love with me, no, he is indeed infatuated with me though, that for a fact I know. It’s infuriating and terrifying at the same time! Though I do have a sliver of love left for him I will never in a million years do anything about it, there’s nothing left to fight for. Only thoughts and dreams I suppose…it’d be a bad idea. It was a bad idea. He wishes I was still his, I wish I was Quinn’s. And only his. As my head came back to reality, Quinn had taken me to a nice restaurant in town. The name of the restaurant was plastered above the doors, ‘MATILDAS KITCHEN’ . There were flowers along the side of it and a nice color contrast of deep blue and a settling green that would make it feel like home to anybody.
“We’re here.” He said calmly, though you can tell from the way his palms were sweating he was not the calmest of campers inside.
“It’s beautiful,” My voice filled with awe and anxiety.
“You okay?” He asked.
“As long as I’m with you I am.” I said.
“...” He just looked at me and smiled softly. His actions spoke millions when he squeezed my hand gently and gazed into my eyes. All I saw swirling in them was love, strong, faithful, and loyal love.
“Same here.” He replied.
If only he knew that I love his brother…
I looked at him with a hint of sadness in my eyes as I spoke.
“We should probably head inside.”
“We should,” He replied.
It was even more beautiful inside the restaurant, stained glass windows, hand painted glasses, handmade coffee cups, almost chandelier like lights, and beautiful private booths.
“I assume that you like it?” He said.
“I’m still paying though,” I commented.
“I know you are, my love,” He replied.
My eyes widened a bit, but remained calm for the most part. “That was rhetorical.”
“Mhm.” He checked into the restaurant, it took a bit before we were seated  in our booth.
We sat in an uncomfortable silence for a few minutes.
“I love the place you picked out, how did you find it?” I asked, breaking the silence gently.
“ I looked for good places for a first date near me, on google.” He replied sarcastically.
“Oh, good pick out the selections,”
“I just picked and went for it, leap of faith,” His voice laced with boredom.
“Is there something wrong?” I asked.
“No, why?” He questioned.
“I’m bored.”
Ouch. “How come?”
“You lied to me earlier.”
“What?”
“You heard me.”
“You. Lied. To. Me.”
I couldn’t speak. I was frozen in plain sight. I didn’t think he would call me out so quickly about earlier.
“Someone was in the bathroom…it was too clear to be over the phone.”
“I can’t tell you.”
He’s watching…watching this date…his eyes glaring into my soul.
“Why not?”
“I just can’t say.”
“Who was there Lynn? That’s all I'm asking.”
I shake my head no in response.
“Why?”
“I’ll see you at the dorms.”  I can’t let him know it was his brother.
“Why are you ditching me?” he said pleadingly.
“What did I do?” He asked again.
“Nothing, I can’t do this tonight, I’m sorry.”
“It doesn’t sound like you're sorry.”
I didn’t turn around to look at him, I just walked back to my dorm and shut the door behind me. Ben played on his computer, laughing to himself till he noticed me and asked me how the date went. I said ‘horrible’ and fell asleep in my dress.
