Interlude
I was waiting for Lynn outside of the dorms, waiting for her in my car. I checked my watch, 8:40 pm…she’s late. I went inside the dorms, I automatically knew where her dorm was from the last time I was there. I headed to the staircase, this’ll be a long hike to come. As I got closer I heard a man's voice, not caring because I know she shares a dorm with Quinn. Knock, no answer knock knock knock, she opened the door, she has finally shown her ever so beautiful face, god I need to kiss her so badly.
“You're late,”
“I am,” she said with that ever so sweet voice of her’s. Though I’m a little sad, she didn’t say sorry at first.
“Wasn’t watching the time.” she said apologetically.
“Sure you weren’t.” I said, my voice was laced with very little emotion.
“I really wasn’t.” She said triumphantly.
A crash could be heard coming from the bathroom, she froze ever so visibly.
“What was that?” I asked.
“Or who was that?” I asked her again.
“Ben,” she replied.
“Ah.”
“...” She remained quiet till someone spoke up from behind me, I turned around, the only emotion that remained on my face was shock. Benedict. Right there in person. This means someone else was in her bathroom…I turned around to face Lynn again, a solemn look on her face. The only look I never wanted to see on that beautiful face of hers.
“Who’s in the bathroom, Lynn?” I asked, I couldn't hold myself back from releasing some sort of desperation in my tone.
“No one,” She was clearly lying to my face and the one who stood behind me.
Ben spoke up, “Can I get into my own dorm?”
I stepped aside, let him in, I watched closely as he walked over to the bathroom door, Lynn froze again, watching him too as he opened the door. Nothing, no one was there to be seen.
“Oh,” She said.
“What do you mean oh? Were you expecting someone?” I said vigorously.
Yet again, no response, her face full of gloom.
“I thought I saw a mouse there earlier.” She said weakly.
Why did I hear another man’s voice then? It was too clear to be over the phone on speaker. But also..familiar almost.
“A mouse?” My voice is full of suspicion and disappointment.
“Yes, what else would it be?”
“Your face is full of gloom.” I stated.
“Ah…” Her face is still masked with gloom.
I let out a sigh. “Right. Let’s go.”
