Chapter One

It was a nice, Saturday evening. I was in the pool while my friends were fighting about who gets to blow up the balloons for the upcoming go-away party. They always fight about the weirdest things. It is starting to get ridiculous. My name is Lynn Allen, this is my story of the wackiest and confusing part of my life that I don’t often bring up; the romantic side of me. The two that are fighting are my childhood friends, Bonnie and Quinn. It is honestly amazing how we are still friends. We all like different things and have different personalities, and those two almost always fight. Great, now I have a headache from those two!
“Hey! Get your butt out of that pool and help!” Bonnie whined. I think she’s talking to me.
“Lynn, please get out of the pool and help! We have five hours to get this up throughout the WHOLE ENTIRE THREE-STORY HOUSE!” Quinn shouts irritably.
“Fine, I will get out of the pool if YOU make a smoothie and relax after this. I insist on it."
Then, out of nowhere, Bonnie says, “You both sound like a married couple,” and then falls onto the floor, almost dying of laughter.
On the other hand, I kinda feel bad for Quinn. He's been put through a lot of stress lately but he is right about how much of the place we have to cover so I finally got up and out. “This is going to be a long week,” I said as I rolled my eyes.
~*~*4 hours have passed*~*~
We got everything done and now Quinn can take one less thing off his plate. It has finally come to the time when all of my close friends and family come. Quinn, Bonnie, and I all got accepted into this new college and will leave tomorrow. I thought it was bizarre since we all want different jobs that don't seem to relate to each other at all. But Bonnie being Bonnie, she said it was a coincidence and Quinn believed that too. So my mom insisted on having one of my ex-best friends come to the party and all she did was annoy me and try flirting with Quinn. I mean, he can’t possibly like her, can he? Wait. No, he hates people who have hurt me before. (Emotionally)
You will not believe what my ex-best friend said to Quinn. She said, “OMG Quinnie, I can’t believe you're leaving me, aww.” So she ran away, fake crying as Bonnie slammed the door shut on accident but still, perfect timing.
“Ugh, finally! The drama is over,” my mom said.
I look at her dumbfounded. Wasn’t she the one who invited all the drama queens?
Bonnie went home to pack up her stuff while Quinn fell asleep on my bed. So I sat next to him, scrolling through Instagram. I felt arms wrap around me and pull me onto the bed. I was quite surprised, but when I saw Quinn moving and talking in his sleep, I let out a sigh of relief. The next morning, Quinn was not there. I thought he left to pack but then I remembered that he said yesterday he already finished packing. I saw the door open out of the corner of my eye to reveal Quinn with pancakes. The smell made my mouth water greatly.
“Wake up you dumb sleepy head. Get out of bed, come on.” He gently shook me with his free hand.
“Wake up, you stupid thing,” he said.
“Good morning Quinn,” my mother said as she peeked into my room along with my father next to her.
“Morning Mr. and Mrs. Allen,” Quinn said.
Quinn looked at my mother, then my father, and, last but not least, me, who he thought was still on the bed, but no. I was awake, snuck past him, and got my yummy pancakes. I saw Bonnie’s car pull up because I told her that I needed more help packing. She hurried inside, went to the kitchen, and got a fork that she stuck in MY pancakes. my dad came down the stairs just in time and saw Bonnie eating my food. He immediately ran back upstairs because one time he and I got into a fight over a pancake. I won the fight easily and confidently.
“LYNN! WHERE ARE YOU?!” Quinn yelled with a hint of worry in his voice.
“I’M DOWNSTAIRS,” I yell back.
“AND I’M HERE TOO, QUINN,” Bonnie yelled.
“GOOD MORNING BONNIE! AND LYNN HOW DID YOU SNEAK PAST ME?” Quinn said in an off-tone voice.
“I DON’T KNOW! MAYBE YOU HAD YOUR GLASSES OFF?” There was a lot of yelling going on between us until he came downstairs.
“Don’t scare me like that Lynn,” said Quinn.
I gave in and said fine even though it wasn’t my fault he was busy talking to my mother. Bonnie laughed like a monkey while looking at us. “You're doing it again.”
“And what are we doing again?” Quinn asked, crossing his arms in front of him.
“Acting like a married couple,” Bonnie said blankly.
“No we aren’t!” Quinn and I shouted in unison.
“Sure, you don't love each other,” She teased.
“Bonnie, be quiet” I whispered to her.
My mother heard Quinn and I yelling and hurried down the stairs. She said in an excited tone, “When’s the wedding?”
“Mom, be quiet,” I immediately said as I felt the blood rush to my face.
I looked over at Quinn. Wait, is he blushing? Nope, I refuse to believe it at all, not even a little bit. I don't like him back, do I? Nope, STOP thinking about him, think about Bonnie. I felt something tap my shoulder.
I turned my head to see Bonnie. But wait, I was just thinking about her….weird.
“We need to go to the airport now if we want to get there in time,” Bonnie said. There was a major mistake with the airplane tickets, I think. And there it was, my seat was next to Quinn’s.
“You have got to be kidding me,” Bonnie said. “What happened now?” asked Quinn. I was the one walking behind Bonnie and Quinn. Quinn went on the plane first then Bonnie and finally then I went on, we were walking on the plane when I noticed Bonnie’s period had started so I gave her my jacket and some period care, problem solved for now. But there is a new problem, I need to figure out my feelings for Quinn. Till then, I will go on with life and focus on the task at hand. Meaning college, the flight, the risks, and how much I need to get a side job.
An hour later, I fell asleep on Quinn’s shoulder and he was like, "What are you doing? Is my shoulder comfy or for some stupid reason?"
“Boy shut the hell up, I am very tired and leave me alone!” I commented back at him. He was absolutely surprised at that because he normally talks like that with Bonnie.
“You have been hanging out with Bonnie too much!” He did not just say that!
“Quinn, you did not just say that about my best friend.”
“Oh, shit!” Then with that, Quinn got up out of his seat and hid in the bathroom. Bonnie was sitting in front of us and did not hear our conversation.
“What just happened?” Bonnie asked.
“You don't need to know,” I replied. I said that because she would have attacked Quinn.
This group is chaotic and terrifying.
“Anyways I’m bored. What do you want to do?” I heard Quinn say.
“AH, when did you get next to me, and how?” I asked.
“Long story short, I don’t want to tell you,” Quinn said.
