Sometimes you pursue multiple projects.

Most times you'll end up biting off more than you could chew.

While most would simply drop one and focus on the others.

Sometimes all you can do is adapt.

~(P.O.V - 3rd)~

This situation was...

Peculiar, to say the least.

Despite appearances, (Y/n) was still a newbie sorcerer, only a few months in, so it's only natural that he'd feel a bit out of his element when watching rituals take place.

After he and Washi went their separate ways, (Y/n) decided to further investigate the theme park in which they met. By the time he got there, the moon was already at its peak.

He took his time on his stroll. Decided it'd be best to test out a nocturnal schedule later on to see if he could find more information and to mull over some theories that his brain was crafting up.

It was obvious that the Xinhai family was something to keep an eye on and while in most cases it'd best to try and snuff a threat out before it could get big, that option wasn't available to (Y/n) immediately.

He hated losing things, and people even more. While it technically went against his grampa's last words, he'd have to stave off 'saving people' to understand what exactly he'd be trying to save them from.

In other words, he's not gonna act until he's got enough information.

And right now...

He didn't even know what to think.

The ritual taking place in the theme park had one goal, to attract strong curses. Why? He didn't know, but, he did know the how.

A large catalyst of pure negativity. A person.

Standing in the middle of a circle made by and with 5 red cloaked humans was a singular person, dressed in attire similar to the others with the key difference being theirs was pure white.

It was hard to decipher any real details. The only light source was from a few candles they lit and the moon's poor coverage of this place.

The aura the center of attention gave off was familiar but he couldn't understand why. The person appeared to be calm, yet, the amount of negative emotions he could detect felt as if they were on the verge of a mental breakdown.

"So, you sure this will work?" A masculine voice said, emanating from the group. He couldn't tell which one was speaking, not that it mattered, but he made sure to do his best to listen.

"Yeah, the ritual should simply require dipping us into the blood of a strong curse. You all were selected because you were strong. After the ritual is complete I'll be at my full strength, your purpose will then be served." The man in white said, his stature was quite short and his voice didn't match it in the slightest.

However, the 'us' he mentioned caught (Y/n)'s attention.

The only outcome he could think of from that sentence was either, A, this person didn't want to refer to themselves as 'me', or B, there were more rituals like this taking place.

Or the lamer option of actually referring to the entire group.

The negativity wafting from the white-coated man was starting to stir curse activity up, it wouldn't be long before dangerous curses made their appearances.

If it was just one of these rituals, the strongest curse he could imagine showing itself would be at least grade-one, special grade was definitely on the table as well. But, who knows how many of these rituals are taking place?
