Freen's POV
I tossed and turned on my bed that night. I can't seem to sleep. A lot has happened today but the unexpected highlight was when I met this girl.
Becky.
Under the rain.
Very cliche, very out of a novel experience.
I'm not the romantic type of person. I'm not even romantic at all. I have had flings in the past but nothing serious.
And I'm not about to be involved in a serious relationship. Especially now that I just signed a major contract with a professional racing team.
I mean, I can still fool around with girls, right? I can still do that.
But a serious relationship is not really something I want to do at the moment.
Problem is...
I also don't think that Becky is the kind of girl who will settle for anything less.
I closed my eyes tightly before pulling the blanket over my head.
What am I even thinking about? I don't even have her number.
I don't even know her last name. So what the hell?
I haven't had much sleep that night.
"Freen? Did you hear me? Are even here?"
I blinked my tired eyes before looking at Nam. She has her hands on her hips while thoughtfully looking at me.
"Huh?"
I asked before stretching my arms above my head and yawn. She shook her head before walking towards me. She sat beside me on the battered couch in her garage before speaking.
"Did something happen yesterday? You seem a bit..."
She said before making a "so-so" hand sign. I rolled my eyes before shaking my head. I didn't tell a soul about Becky. Because, why do I need to? There is nothing to tell.
"Just a bit tired. What's up?"
I said before pretending to read a magazine. She just laughed before standing up and walking towards my motorcycle. She's been tinkering since I arrived.
"You must be really tired because you're reading that magazine upside down."
She said before pointing at the magazine using a wrench. Just then I realized she was right. I am holding the darn magazine upside down. I fixed it and just shrugged.
"I did that on purpose."
I said before biting my lower lip to fight a smile. I heard her laugh.
"Hey, I have new neighbors. They moved last night."
She said. I didn't answer. I don't know what the hell she wants me to say about that.
Congratulations?
"They have a beautiful daughter."
She said. I lowered the magazine to look at her. She has her eyes on the engine of the motorcycle while still tinkering with it.
"And?"
I asked when she did not say anything more. She just shrugged.
"Just thought you'd be interested. It's been a while since you've had a fling. I'm starting to worry."
She said teasingly. I just laughed. Typical Nam.
"You know me. I get bored easily."
I said before putting the magazine down on the small table. She just nodded in agreement.
