Becky's POV
My mind is still wandering after that session with Dr. Austin. We dived deeper into the beauty of the human mind after the hypnosis session and it turned into a semi-lecture.
Our conversation was cut short because her next client was already ushered inside of the room.
"Thank you, Becky. I hope to see you again soon."
Dr. Austin said before standing up from her seat to shake my hand. I smiled at her widely before shaking her hand.
"Thank you, Dr."
I said before turning around and walking out of the door.
As I walk aling the corridor, my mind started to wander.
"Sometimes, the people you meet in your previous lives make an appearance in you current one. Their roles might change every time, tho."
I remembered what Dr. Austin said. I have read this before. Sometimes your mom becomes your best friend and your spouse becomes your parent or whatever.
"So, how was it?"
Lin asked excitedly while we are sitting side by side eating lunch. I told her how amazing the experience was but did not share anything about the hypnosis. I bit my lower lip while contemplating whether to ask her about the race last night.
"Did you watch the race?"
I asked before pretending to cough a few times. I drank from my orang juice trying my best to act normal. Lin raised her brow at me, like she's trying to decipher something.
She took her water bottle and drank from it before looking at me. I leaned back a little. I know that look. She faced me and laid her hands on my shoulders.
Here it goes.
"Well... see. It was rescheduled. And... you know I actually asked my dad to give you a slot with Dr. Austin."
She said before smiling sheepishly. I thought so! There's a motive there. I rolled my eyes at her pretending to hate her but in fact my heart leapt hopefully.
"It will be on friday. I already called your dad and he said yes."
She said. I groaned. Typical Lin. I sighed and just nodded. She made a happy sound before hugging me excitedly. I just shook my head and finished my food.
Will I see her there?
The rest of the day was spent reading books, lectures and meetings. Professor Andrews, our club adviser, mentioned that Dr. Austin already gave the dean her decision regarding the internship.
"Also, whoever she chooses, will be exempted from the exams because she will be bringing him or her with her on tour."
He said. I felt excited but at the same time conflicted. It would mean I will be away from home most of the time.
We've discussed some of our priority projects and fund raising activities. A brilliant idea came to my mind.
"What if we host an amateur racing contest? Just one night."
I said. The others looked at me in confusion but Lin jumped in excitement. She looked at the stunned Professor Andrews before speaking.
"I will secure my dad's approval and we will be in charge of securing the venue and the racers."
Lin said while her hand is in the air. Some of our members talked to each other. Some looking doubtful but most of them are into it. Well, who wouldn't? Lin is the dean's daughter she can easily work her way into getting what she wants. There's no point in arguing.
