Becky's POV
It's today.
It's the day.
I can't contain my excitement as I enter the University entrance. Today is the day.
"Becky!"
I heard that familiar voice from behind me. I don't need to turn around to see that it's Lin. I felt her arm on my shoulders.
"You ready? I'm so excited!"
She said. Her excitement is evident in her voice. I smiled nervously at her while we walk side by side to the Psych Department.
I can already see a dozen or more of my fellow students piling up infront of the room that Dr. Austin used for her consults. A small cork board is hanging infront of it.
"Is it posted yet?"
Lin asked one of the student but he shook his head. I took a deep breath and sighed. My heart is pounding and my hands started to sweat. I have never felt this nervous in my entire life.
"Don't worry. I'm 100% it's you."
Lin said not even bothering to lower her voice. Everyone looked our way. Some of them fixed their eyes on me. Most of them are glaring.
I slapped Lin's arm softly.
"Shhh!"
I whispered. She just shrug and flipped her hair before looking at the people who are staring at us.
"What? Don't you wish you have friends like me?"
She told them. I chuckled a little bit before givinf her a playful pinch on her arm. I'm so glad I have Lin as a friend.
"Hey. Stop."
I said while still chuckling. She flipped her hair again and was about to say something when Professor Faye, one of our Psych professor, walked past us and straight to the door.
"Make way, move, move."
She said while waving a piece of paper in her hand. The students made way for her as she walks towards the board hanging on the door. She faced everyone and looked at each and everyone of us.
"I know you've been waiting for this for some time now but please know that Dr. Austin chose an apprentice who she thinks will best fit her personality and who can match her passion for Psychology. Don't ever think that you are less than anyone."
She said. Her eyes caught mine and it lingered for a bit before she turned her back on us to place the announcement on the board. Almost immediately, everyone standing there, piled up infront of the bulletin.
Professor Faye walked away after gaving me and Lin a quick nod and smile.
"She's beautiful. Sometimes I wonder why she ended up being a professor rather than a beauty queen."
Lin said while still checking out the professor. I smacked her arm again before she realized what she's doing.
"Oh. Sorry."
She said laughing. The crowd groaned in a unison of disappointment and some of them already left. One of them stopped in front of me and Lin and just stared blankly at us before leaving.
My heart leapt in excitement. I pulled Lin by the arm and checked the bulletin.
"You got it! Oh my Gosh!"
Lin said while jumping up and down. I stood there, my eyes fixed on the announcement.
I can't believe it.
